Give me 18, but not on Earth - new PBEM

Actually, I live in a GMT+1 timezone, I just calculated GMT times because I thought it would be better if we all use the same system. So just subtract a hour there and we are fine.

I fixed the first page, but if the times you gave me were adjusted to GMT then we should be fine - the time slots I listed are all based on GMT, you'd need to adjust for your own time zone.

Either way, 1 hour in either direction isnt going to change anything... you all will do turns as it comes to you. Michkov is up now, so Knoedel you will be next. PM and email coming with your password!

Hey Nighthawk, just read your e-mail, what does the table with the x's and the yellow squares represent?

I just played my turn and uploaded it. I can indeed see why my predecessor called himself the Shepherd. :D Anyway, I changed my name to Imperator Knoedel and left the password the same.
I´m looking forward to many years of entertainment from this game.
Cheers.

That is what I used to create the turn order. the x's represent the times everyone said they were available, adjusted to GMT. The yellow/orange highlights represent the actual time slot I assigned to them to keep a good flow moving.

In certain cases, like you and Michkov, you both said you were pretty much available anytime or kinda randomly depending on the day of the week, so the x's didnt really mean much, I just needed to put a code together for my own use.

I'm glad everything worked out well. We are already to the last player in "day 3" so things appear to be moving smoothly. Hopefully we stick to this "every 3 days" schedule pretty consistently going forward!

And yes... even Imperator Knoedel will need to learn how to handle sheep!!! ha

Tomorrow I will post my first story-segment. I hope for international tension with Paradigm Shifter spiced up by internal quarreling and religious conflicts. I really like this roleplay-style. And don´t worry, sheep are definitely going to play an important part in Sumerian history, I can promise you that!
Oh and ty Ormylar for the link btw!

Cheers.

How many moons does this planet have? It´s not really Earth after all. This could be a nice detail to add to the stories, short- and longterm. First there could be religious conflicts about which moon is to be counted as god or the like, and on the long term it could have interesting effects on the Space-Race and the Apollo-Program. As of now I would need that information for an ancient time system.

Cheers.

uummm.... I like the ideas. I dont have an answer. So I'm going to say that you can go ahead and let us know how many moons there are. The Cherokee people are not aware of what happens at night because we are too busy hunting and making babies!

Moon, what's a Moon? In our sky's of day we see the Face of God at the right hand of Ra the Light-Giver who rests in his cave at night.

Where did we come from?

Under the many moons of the 18th alternative universe of Earth, the people begin to wonder… where did we come from? Did the bright orange circle in the sky create all life on Earth, including those of us who walk and hunt and spread our seeds? Or is it the silver globes that light our tracks during the time of hunting? Is the Earth herself the one that chooses the destiny of the people?

Many questions, few answers.

Hundreds of years we have been here on this land. Yet no one on this Earth has uncovered the secrets of the universe. The people are adept at survival… whether it be farming, mining, fishing or hunting, all across the world humans are finding their place above the beasts which roam the lands. Our intellect sets us above the other living things. Will our intellect be the root of our downfall?

Nothing can be answered… if we don’t have a reason for our being, how can we possibly have answers for anything else? We are beginning to understand our world. But it is slow moving. Other universes may not have spread our seed as quickly as we are, but at least they have explanations for the world around them.

The people begin to wonder. The question is not “Will we begin to explain the reasons for the world around us?” but rather “WHO will be the first to come up with an answer?”

And so God looked down upon them.

And God smiled.

The Scout now known as Grunt has been wandering from forest to forest in search of anything worthy of mentioning to his people for some time now, he still carries in one hand a small hatchet given to him by Shaka who now calls himself Eclipse. All alone, desperate to achieve the admiration of his people he stumbles over a small fallen tree and falls on his back, gazing up he shrouds his eyes, between the trees the brightest rays of the sun god shines directly on him and he feels renewed, but a new urge to grab his belly and launch forth a rancid burst of air becomes his next achievement, he has not yet learned what to forage and what to leave alone. Gathering himself up, he is stopped in his tracks by the sound of a wild animal’s growl!!! Grunt runs for his life and re-earns his real name “man with thick feet”
Whatever it was he did not see, but that growl was a good enough thing to tell his people. Running back for a turn he arrives not at Ulundi where he began this journey but in a small village called Nobama where he rushes into the first shelter he sees. Entering unannounced and banging his head on the main beam he shouts GRUNT Grunt GRUNT and stomps his feet! The small child there along gave out a whale and soon after her mother appears. Not recognizing this Scout she steps between him and her child a sternly points at the flap. Grunt grabbing his head looks at her and goes the way she pointed.

Outside a man appears and says “Grunt your back!” Grunt rubs his face and says “Eclipse?” Yes it is I. I’ve come to ask who leads this small village. The woman’s husband emerges and joins his wife’s side along with a small boy. I guess I do as it is just the two us here. Not wasting any time Eclipse grabs a skin from his pouch and hands it to the man. He sees it is a drawing of a village and two figures and a third figure much larger than the others and points at his chest and points at the larger figure. The man and the woman immediately shows respect and points toward their dwelling but Eclipse still has another village he knows is out there somewhere he must again repeat this act. With a smile one might take as deception he turns and leaves.

When the distance was great the young boy insistently tugged on his mother’s home spun and blurted out in their native tongue that he has seen that man appear right next to The Great Shaka on top a hill, he hit Shaka on the head and picked him up and threw him into the Sun God and disappeared. The father smiles and pats his young son on his head and thinks to himself “what an imagination”

Y u no post in stories thread?

Y u no post in stories thread?

The story-telling aspect of this game is optional, otherwise we'd never get 18 to play it! I haven't quite figured whether stories will go in this thread or the story thread, so I've been posting in both. It's still really early, so I don't expect much public diplomacy or much to work with, but yes hopefully a few more story-tellers will emerge and put some words on paper for this game! Feel free to put your story up!

Michkov seems to have trouble using the tracker and sent me the save per email. What am I supposed to do?
