I don't know if this is a local thing, but apparently the word 'straight' has taken a new meaning. For example:

"That's alright.." can be said "That's straight.."

or another example:

"Is that legitimate?" can be answered by "It's straight."

I can give an example of an extremely local word (so local that it hasn't even spread out of my own house) and I've never heard anyone besides my family say it, and that word is "f**k ex." Apparently it's a term used in the Navy, I don't know how commonly.

If you wanted to say "The traffic is ridiculous!", you could say instead "It's a big f**k ex out there!"

one you might hear around here is "im losing my religion" which means im goin CRAZY!!!! its really scary if your with a redneck and he says that under his breath

Jake - "okay", as in "everything's jake," meaning everything is cool.

"Everything jake?"
"I'm Jake. You're not Jake."
"I know, but everything's jake, right?"
"No, just me."

pet - to caress
neck - to caress

"Let's run over and pet their necks."
"I think you'd rather neck their pets."

Just kidding, we don't talk like 20s America anymore. Here, we have like...

"tight", which generically means cool. Nobody really says this anymore since we all repress it because it's part of the 90s, but occasionally it will surface.

We speak normally here. We're all Asians in Southern California. We speak good English. :p
