Global warming strikes again...

This isn't something we tend to do very often...

No, I'd likely just do that once myself, too dang cold. Might try it inside where its warmer...

If the Republican states aka Trumpland want to kill themselves by the Millions then they should be allowed to go ahead, they can enjoy a legacy of death
China is just repeating our mistakes but faster, Additional pressure for China to clean up its act is welcome. Traffits will probably work at the cost of both the US and Chinese economy as it will be a full blown trade war

I have no idea how you transitioned to Trump. :dunno:

Like Globel warming were about to find out very soon on the coming Tarffits / Trade war(s)

Steep tariffs, some analysts say, ultimately could end up hurting the economies of both the U.S. and China. "If he starts throwing around trade barriers to China and Mexico, they're going to retaliate
"He can impose tariffs on China and Mexico, our two leading trade partners, without congressional approval."

if the United States ever did initiate a trade war with China, the financial consequences to the U.S. could be devastating."

O'Marah also points out that China "probably would have no trouble surviving a trade war with us."

"As big as the United States is as a market, we are not growing from a consumer goods standpoint anywhere near as fast as India, Brazil, Indonesia, you name it," he says. "Getting tough with China, especially if it really does precipitate a trade war, would immediately lead to parts shortages and finished products shortages in practically every industry that we have."

Gonna have a headache in the AM Friendly, take it from an expert.

but the evidence is clear: there was no "pause" (it was simply a cherry-picking trick)
And a very obvious one at that. One single data point from 1998 is used as indicating a trend. It screams: 'clueless'. Stating "yet temps declined" is either a sign of ignorance or disingenuous. Discussions have led me to believe the former.

Fact of the matter is: 2010-2016 has been warmer than 2000-2009, 2000-2009 has been warmer than 1990-1999. The only pause that happened is in critical thinking.

Insults are not scientific either.

CO2 quit working so well and ppm rose dramatically during 'the pause' remember. Of course people kept driving their cars etc, yet temps declined.

There was no pause.

*sigh*

The entire "pause" myth stems from looking only at partial data over a short term. If you look at the total energy budget (which means including the oceans) and all forcings you quickly find that there is no pause.
Nobody has claimed (as you seem to insinuate) that global annual average air temperature and CO2 must rise in lockstep. Ocean circulations (most famously El Nino / La Nina) play havoc with that, by altering the ratio of energy distribution between air and water. Other factors (e.g. air pollution - responsible for the apparent lack of warming in the first half of the 20th century) also play their roles.
So please quit yelling about an imagined "pause", and using it as an argument.

*sigh*? Yours is a great burden, to always be so sure of yourself, and of course always right. Rest, but by all means, find a place you won't freeze. You are far too valuable, as well as gullible.

This is a coward's retreat. You don't know what you're talking about, that much is obvious, but sadly snarkily undermining the people who do isn't any substitute for learning stuff.

Irony. For 5 years you have been certain this global warming is a malarky. Not doubtful, certain. We're fools to believe in it, and it takes an independent person like yourself to see the obvious truth that the world is cooling. You were certain in 2011 that we'd be freezing in 2012. In 2012 you were certain that 2016 would show us how right you were. These were all predictions you were sure off. To the point of ridiculing anyone who dared to disagree.

Now Carlos makes a statement about the past. And it's a statistical, demonstrable certainty that there has been no pause in the temperature trend.

As I said, insults aren't science gentlemen, but they are expected. :dunno:

Did I insult you? I don't think I did.

On the other hand, I can easily show you your quotes where you insult those who believe global warming is happening. And I have many such quotes to chose from.

Those in greenhouses should not throw stones.

When I was a kid I did not like snow and there was a lot of snow. As an adult I like snow and there is no snow. Figures.

Which is exactly what you turn to when you run out of arguments - as you frequently do here. How about, instead, a reply that addresses any of the points made?

Snow is pretty for a bit then gets dirty and looks awful. Of course if you are a skier you can enjoy that... I remember on the east coast having to get up hours before work and shovel off the driveway and walkways, and snow just seemed like more work. Haven't changed that opinion. At least on the left coast it wouldn't be deep and it would melt off. I'm no great fan of the stuff, though pretty early on.

You will get your wish, if that's what you want.

I had the same mindset when I was younger. Snow was just cold, wet and full of chores. Now I always cross my fingers for snowy winters with ample ski opportunities.

Norway, well you should be getting plenty soon.
