Gnb3 Pbem!!!

And like you said, you betrayed your allies, so why should i trust you ? What can you expect in response when you urged Austria and Prussia to attack me from the start.... leaving they're borders for your taking. I'm not that gullible and stupid you know

No complaints about it. This is a war:D

You can call it whatever you like Academica, but you did have 4 ships in the town
Napoleon was outraged when French intelligence discovered that the Russians where maintaining a large naval fleet in Athenae

Which town? Athens? I have only 1 frigate (damaged) I don´t understand that. 4 ships were? I have 2 (damaged) around Palermo. I´m just critizing your argument. It isn´t accurate. I wasn´t a menace. That´s all SAS.

We're only at war if you send any further ships into the Med. and outside the Baltics.

More ships? Do i have more ships?:D
Don´t worry i won´t sent them. I hope you respect that.

Austria seeks compensation for the stolen victory by Russia's due. The Balkans shall be Austrian as they were entrusted to the Russian Empire as token of holy alliance. Should Russia of course surrender the Balkanic cities to Austria there may be a chance for further understanding and a feasible cease fire- this would allow Russia to better defend its then less far spread territory!

Sorry, i´ll fight to the bitter end Winter :(

That´s war Winter, isn´t it? ;)

Not really, the political concept of war (or threat of war- i.e. by showing means and the determination of not merely defending a State's interests, but to wage war outside of national borders) envolves making the opponent comply with ones interests, usually by disabling the opponents means of defending its own interests.

Wars do not just happen, and are not intended to wreak havok (although this is usually a side effect). There is always a purpose to waging war; to get the opponent to give up what is wanted- or to deterr the opponent of getting what he wants. Normally the benefits within these interests outweight the costs of maintaining war potential and/or conducting war (an example would be WWII were Hitler had to attack Poland prematurely do to too high economic strains out of the rapid militarisation of the german industrial infrastructure and financial exhaustion- he owed to much to his industrialist friends who wanted a piece of the cake in exchange for their support of the regime). The purpose of this war was hence economic, as well as the initial stage for preparations for the attack on the USSR- the main goal being to have the huge Soviet ressources and labour working for a German controlled European market... again, the racial aspect remains a side effect (an particularly ugly one though).

ps Sorry 4 threadjacking... or as Sun Tzu would put it, "a skilled warrior knows when to attack, yet a great general must also realise when to retreat".

Retreat my forces, but not surrender. ;)

Hmmm, that is actually quite a usefull interpretation :D ... hummm yes, I think it may mean something similar to what I was thinking. There is never dishonour in adapting to a better strategy in an ever developing active environment :king:.

BTW, whose turn is it ????

Also, i'm going on holiday in a week, and will need someone to fill in for me for a week.

It´s Magic-Monkey´s turn. Did he comunicate with someone?

Army reforms completed.
Blucher's army reforms went into operation this month. This means a substantial advance in terms of both quantity and quality for the Prussian war effort.

Outraged by the Russian desecration of the Eastern Prussian lands, thousands of volunteers hurried to sign up for the military. A new spirit of nationalism is sweeping the country as anger at the Russian aggressor deepens.

As a result of this feeling Kronstadt rebelled against its occupiers, capturing a badly damaged Russian ship of the line in the process.

Prussian diplomats are encouraged by France's stand against Russian aggression.

also, to continue the ooc debate. i just wondered, academia, whether you actually gave any thought to your backstab. So far, all you've succeeded in doing is trashing most of east Prussia and some of Austria, and a great cost in terms units on both sides. What are you actually hoping to achieve?

I'll agree with winter that war should have a political aim, even if this is only a game, it's still something of a simulation of international politics. For example, the war austria and i were engaged in prior to your intervention was in order to maintain the balance of power in Europe by preventing France occuypying Britain and the iberian peninsular.
It just seems you've not really put that much thought into your moves, although if this is all part of some elaborate masterplan i'll take my hat off to you. :)

What can i say magic-monkey? I made a huge mistake :D
First i betrayed my original allies, then France betrayed me; that´s justice don´t you think so?

What can i do now? Just fight, fight to the end. As a good russian soldier i´ll give my life for the motherland.

although if this is all part of some elaborate masterplan i'll take my hat off to you.

Masterplan? :D Yes, survive!!!!

After a disasterous situation last month. The French managed to subdue many British cities. With the negotations having failed due to France's unwillingess to realise that they can not simply put us off for a while and finish us off later.

Britain began this month somewhat prepared for renewed war.

*Birmingham and Bristol have been re-captured. Numerous French units destroyed & captured.

*Plymouth attacked with 2 French units destroyed.

*Rogue loyalists operting outside of Lisbon have captured Cordoba.

*The Siege of Gibraltar has been completly lifted. With 4 land units destroyed and a ship.

*A small campaign in Africa resulted in the capture of Aggadir.

"The Balkans are Burning high tonight!" were the words of Austrian Field Marshal von Thurn & Taxis when taking up his new residence in proximity of the Hagia Sofia. The Prince thus concluded the fierce "Balkanic Battle" after taking Bucuresti two months ago. The small, yet brave Austrian cavalry had an examplary role in this months battle.

During these last few days of April the Austrian army has been able to drive the Russians out of the region:
*Thessaloniki taken
*Istanbul captured and heavily fortified
*Sevastopol taken by surprise
*4 Russian Infantry regiments (consisting of local volunteers) integrated into the Austrian ranks. The more valuable units seem to have fled for safe shores on transports or towards Asia Minor.

Austria has made its promise come true: The Balkans are in Austrian hands, with the exception of Athens (at present under French jurisdiction). We have repeatedly urged Russia to seek dialogue, and perhaps an honourable peace can still be established despite prior wrongs commited by the Russian people.

In the meantime the "waste" of material continues in Britain, where the British army seems to have launched an offensive against the invading French. Austria urges the powers to halt the war, as the costs are exorbitantly high and will make any reasonable diplomatic outcome impossible.

Also Spain is suffering under what seems to be a chaotic civil war between various warring parties!!!

-sorry forgot to change my tax, new upload :(

Allthough the British counter attack is a setback for operation "Cleansweep", the French forces managed to inflict heavy casualties on the British army:

*Cordoba liberated
*6 British units destroyed in England

Seeing the progress of the Austrian forces in the Balkans, France made moves to secure its interests in the middle east. French forces will not move further north than Mosul and Antioch.

*French amphibious attack on Antioch, the city was captured after a French show of might.
*French forces captures Mosul.
*A large army of Russian troops and cavalry annihilated south of Ankara.
*Russian frigate spotted outside the Black sea was sunk without mercy.

Thanx for another betrayal Sas!!!:goodjob:

Shoul i trust you this time? Or do you want to take Turkey?

Prussian revolution

The political instability in Europe continues, now spreading to Prussia. Angry mobs rampaged through the streets in reaction to harsh economic measures following Prussia's war with Russia.
The royal palace was stormed and Friedrich Wilhelm's family were last seen in the vicinity of Hamburg.

The people of konisberg, too, joined the uprising and the city returned to Prussian hands.

A brief period of unrest is to be expected, before a new government is able to ride the wave of the popular uprising.

Prussian military forces were unsure of what action to take without a government in place and remained largely fortified in East Prussia.
