GoobNES01: Fallout [Third Thread]

We have stated again and again the crimes committed were against the Islamic state and people and thus the accused will not be allowed to leave the United Islamic states until such a time that they have either been declared innocent or that they have served their prison sentences which under Islamic law will be no less than 25 years for the crime of espionage.

So u'll hold the trial in a city where the judge would be surrounded by millions of people hostile to him or her aquitting the innocent? I'm sure judges would be really willing to be in that spot...

Oh and as for the judges, they will be billeted in the great Sheppard's Hotel in the middle of Cairo a 6 star establishment. Futhermore any offical found to have tried to prevert the course of justice will be charged with crimes that fit their crimes and will go to court under Islamic law.

No, not any officials but maybe huge screaming mobs outisde the courthouse, hotel, surrounding his car and those stuff. And don't forget mailed threats against his family and etc.

No protests will be allowed within 3 miles of the courthouse and the route between the courthouse and hotel will be undetaken by the most secure of transportations possible.

Russia thanks China for the support. In addition, since the government of the UIS itself is interested in the people being found guilty we do not trust the government of the UIS to preven others from influencing the judges.

Perhaps if we have the judges in Tel Aviv, with the trial and all the witneses there, however the testimony of the accused will be taken via a video link from Cairo. Once again we reiterate that the accused will not leave UIS territory until such a time that they are proven innocent or served their prison terms.

Do note that the courtcase, and hotel will mostly be in Cairo the capitol of the Egyptian State within the UIS and if they have any other protests not about the judging of the accused russian spies they'll be arrested?

Also, u still didn't answer how the judge will live after the decision has been made, there could be a lot of angry people with him all over the world... and i'm afraid some could be radical enough to try and kill or harm him and his family if he aquitted any accused spies.

With agreement of the Republic of Israel, the trial will be held in the International City of Jeruseulem. A new International Court of Justice will be formed and it will be run by this organisation (ooc: goober) This shall ensure that the trial is free and fair and thus unpredjudiced.

Ok, i return, time for diplo and stuff . . .

To the Philippines,
From Mindanao,

NO! We will NOT allow you to dictate to us what the size of our Military shall be, once we are free from your grasp. We consider your offer an insult, and a slap in the face. We will wait the 2 years until we are free (OOC might be 3, im not 100% sure), and, at that time, we WILL be free. We WILL be allowed to have a military of any size we want, all the WMDs we want, and do you know why? Because we will be FREE! Already, we are getting the impression that you will seek to curb our Freedom, and this worries us. Once we are FREE of your grasp, we will do as we please!

OOC - They are slightly annoyed at you, #1.

To Japan,
From Korea,

Yes, Inspectors may be allowed into our Worker's Paradise to revel in the glory of our Defense Capabilities, but only from countries that we choose. We will allow Inspectors from Quebec, Colombia, Albania, and Mexico, and that is all. They will verify what we have said.

OOC - Consider all but Quebec to be biased, for the record.

OOC - Oeri, in your orders, just say which NPC you want to start a Trade Route with. Chances are, they will accept.

OOC - Toteone NO! It was already taken into account.

Ok, I have noticed some diplo about an International Criminal Court, or International Court of Justice that people have been discussing. If people want such a thing, then I am more then happy to do it for you guys. For the current crisis between Russia and the UIS, i would suggest that it be in a neutral nation, like Jerusalem, which is, technically speaking, an International City, in taht it is not owned by anyone. Somewhere in a neutral NPC like Benelux, Nunavut, or Vietnam might be good as well. But, for Stormy and Sheep, if you guys agree, i can act as an Independent Neutral Court, to settle your little spat. For all other cases, I can set up an ICJ in Jerusalem on a more pernament basis, and we could assume that everybody would automatically accept its authority, which would be similar to the RL ICC in The Hague, unless you say otherwise. I would like some feedback on this suggestion.

I will be willing to commit to the retrial with the ICC in Jerueselum.

Provided they reseive proper Russian leagal advise Russia will agree to the trial in Jersusalem

I need to talk to Goobs first though, to explain the defence strategy

To the Commonwealth Union
From the United Islamic States

In case you havent noticed we dont really trade with you anyways. The 50 Russian nationals have been found guilty by espionage and thus will remain imprisoned. Negotiations are ongoing between the United Islamic states and the Russian Federation.

We did take our trade balance into account before announcing our actions. :)
We were supporting the Russians because of our experience with the seizure of our citizens by the AF in the past and their trial before an AF jury... admittedly the counts of espionage (never repeated thereafter as we learnt our lesson) were true, but it would have been much fairer had they been tried before an international court and not been thrown into moldy jails to fail a kangaroo court.
-----------------

The CU proposes that the trial be held Geneva in USE territory and hopes this is acceptable to both parties.

To: Korea
From: Japan

We would be more at ease and trusting if inspectors from Japan and countries that neighbor you were also allowed in.

Russia is willing, if needed and allowed, to inspect Korean nuclear fascilities to verify the number and size of the Korean nuclear force.

Korea issued the list of nations that it will allow Inspectors to come into Korea from. Those are the ONLY nations who are to be allowed into Korea to inspect our Nuclear Deterrant. However, we will allow them to take pictures to prove to the world what we have. Those inspectors will find that we have 37 Nuclear Weapons, and the means to deliver them to major cities in China and Japan, if needed. Korea has expressed a willingness to get rid of her Nuclear Deterrant if needed, however, certain conditions must be met to ensure that Korea will not suffer a drop in her security.

OOC - The ICJ Ruling will come soon. So will my proposed Rules for a more Pernament ICJ. Unfortunately, bureaucracy at my work means that I don't know my schedule yet, so i can't say when the next update will be. *sigh* managers . . .
