GOP Super Tuesday

Don't expect Ohio until late tonight or tomorrow. It's close.

So, does "Super Tuesday" actually have any relevance to the eventual nomination or is it just a massive opinion poll?

On another note: Watching Sarah Palin talk is worse than watching athletes talk. They are both so inarticulate and speak in nothing but platitudes. But, she has the additional awesomeness of her accent. I think it is now my least favorite American accent, perhaps only behind Indian worldwide.

Tennessee and Oklahoma seem like Santorum wins.

Does anyone actually see a way forward for Santorum? Unless something amazing happens, doesn't this race seem over?

If they collectively can prevent Mittens from getting 50% of the delegates before the convention, then then someone else still has a chance.

Looks like Santorum is going to win Oklahoma as well.

Which by the way, is great for obama because

1) it stalls the republican primary longer, thus keeping Republicans divided amongst themselves and

2) Santorum's ultra right wing comments don't have a chance in a general election.

1) Didn't hurt Obama (after defeating Clinton) it would seem.

2) He won't be nominated.

I would say it did hurt Obama, with "hurt" being a relative term. No it didn't stop him from winning, but one could easily make the argument that if the democratic party wasn't so divided and such, Obama would have won by a major landslide. Obama won, but not by much even after having a Republican President for 8 years that got the country in a mess. The truth is on that basis McCain never had much of a chance in the first place. The fact that the democrats were divided made Obama weaker, but not so much weaker that he couldn't beat McCain.

In this election, Obama is not as solid as a candidate as he was last. America has already had him as a President for 4 years and a lot of people disapprove of how he's handling things. (I'm not one of them though)

In fact, it was even said at one point that according to a poll (I think it was CNN) a generic republican vs Obama held today (although this was several months ago), the generic republican would win.

However, as to all the specific republicans running against Obama? (Paul, Santorum, Romney, Gingrich) Obama is beating all of them. The Republicans are killing each other. Period.

I would call 365 to 173 a blowout.

This country has a long, long tradition of reelecting incumbents. Sure, Obama isn't guaranteed anything, but I would consider Obama the favorite.

I think that is more about asking someone if they would want their ideal Republican candidate (even if he/she doesn't exist) in the White House is different than asking if they want Romney or Paul or any other specific individual.
