Much of this makes me really wonder how much of this Gore actually believes in and how much is just simple politics? So far, I am leaning more the "just simple politics" direction.

Most people like that are hypocrites. My school's AP Environmental Science teacher (a "pansy-dandy" liberal) drives an SUV yet makes every student collect all their garbage, and bring it with them everywhere they go, for three days. Advocates' hypocrisy does not necessarily mean that what they are advocating is incorrect, though.

Man, I'm not being nitpicky or argumentative - I'm just asking that a statement made (and co-signed) in the thread be backed up with a TAD of reasoning behind it. Or is the bias so strong against either Al Gore or the concept of Global Warming that you just suffer a knee-jerk emotion of disgust when they're mentioned?

The lack of response disappoints me. I was wondering the same thing. Especially because without blinking the hypocrit statement will be repeated in the future with as much argumentation behind it. And around and around we go

It does not matter what he says is the truth or not, but the fact that he does not actually believe what he says is the truth. iF he can show that he is working out ways to solve thos prbolems, then he is not an hyprocrite, but right now it does not appear that he is trying to correct the failures to keep his word.

I happen to be pro-nuclear power, so I'm going to go out on a limb and say we do have a choice, just both sides of the political spectrum are unable to do the necessary steps.

Right: so we know Gore promotes recycling and energy efficiency. Show me the part where the article shows that he doesn't recycle and is wasteful with energy.

As for Global warming...I dont doubt its occuring and I even acknowledge that mankind is influencing it.....but to what degree remains to be seen.

As for this thread. The overall point is not necessarily is Gore a hypocrit...almost all your politicians are regardless anyways....but rather my opinion is Al Gore isnt a "true believer" in global warming as some would think and that he is merely using this platform for his own gain.

The point is, if the republicans were viewed as being stronger on global warming, Al Gore wouldnt have touched it with a ten foot pole.
