My question is will ainwood put us next to the Babylonians or far away -- history says next door but if they are far away isolated on a semi-big island, they could really develop a lot of culture quickly.

I actually got online before work to check for the save, but it wasnt there.

I am a bit apprehensive about the 5 billion, warm wet world. We may really lack iron. I may try and make an early trade for the wheel.

I am still debating on how to play this game. Warmongering too early will just waste traits. What I would really like to do is get my cities up to size 7 asap to take advantage of the extra shield. That just means I need a way to make 7 people content.

1 more from the Oracle (doubles a temple)
Hanging Gardens will give 3 wherever you build it plus 1 more everywhere else

The variables are the luxury slider, and extra luxuries.
Monarchy will give 3 MP instead of 2 in despotism

A lot of happy people will become a huge power in this game, and there is abundant food.

Any worker ordering that seems better? There are a bunch of steps to get a settler factory up and running. How much is order-dependant?

Should I road the irrigated FP squares?

If I settle on the SE fur forest, it saves a chop and road. But I don't get the chop shields.

If I chop at the wrong time, the shields will get wasted.

Settling anywhere but on a Fur Forest won't get 2 shields in the city square straight away, and will mean the shields won't be available for a Settler factory.

I wish! No - it was a public holiday here on monday, and that seems to have thrown me. I spent all yesterday thinking that since it was my first day at work it must have been "monday". The irony is that I took advantage of the day off to get the saves finalised and the game release page (mostly) done. I'll take an early lunch today and upload the saves to the server.
