Comments...
Science and growth have been my primary emphasis, along with gold. Even my "normal" havy use of trade caravans has taken a beating in recent centuries, but except to the switch to Democracy, I've kept the science rate at one every two turns at all costs. In another century, that will be cranked up to one per turn, using freight and Railroad. But for now, I have not yet discovered RR, though that will occur next turn.
It looks like my Industrial Revolution will begin soon, and the sprint will be on for Electronics & Mass Transit to control the pollution my larger cities will soon spew. I plan to hit refrigration before Industialization, but that line of research (thru Magnetism and Electricity) has been denied of late.
The Celts unexpectedly (but smartly) moved their capital to some location I have not yet located. Shortly after they did that, I bribed Cardiff (size 2), then let the 2 units (Phalanx and Warrior) upgrade to Rifleman, and disbanded those to rush buy engineers and kill Cardiff so I could move it one square. Carlisle became an instant size 3 city when I joined 2 engineers to it, and immediately celebrated to size 8.

London has had lots of pollution Icons for 100s of years, but I have yet to see the first polluted square. I have engineers patiently waiting in England to clean up any pollution... in AD 1000, they are asleep, since no more imporovements can be made and I have no nearby ships to move them. I have no extra time to make a ship, as almost all resources are dedicated to wonders and increasing population.
BTW, King Richard's Crusade has really paid off well in GOTM 7, returning over 730 shields by 1000 AD (cost = 300 shields). I will likely terminate King Richard within 5 turns (100 more shields), since the world is relatively peaceful and no civ is a real threat. Though I normally eschew the Hanging Gardens, I must admit they have been worth from 150 to 220 gold per turn and allowed me to keep my taxes at 40%. Next turn, RailRoad will deny the HG, unfortunately.

In exploration, I have three packs of units that are hut-popping... my dips and mounted units have been controlling them. Australia is a problem, since there are too many units attached to my single city down under. That last hut will have to wait until a new city is founded, in case barbs pop out.
On the Military front, all civs now are reduced to one city, for the moment. The Celts escaped somewhere to found a new city, and I will have to track the bums down in a couple hundred years. All other civs are surrounded. My Mongol Alliance is shaky, but they always demand an advance when I contact them... which is fine because I contact them to gift them advances

If I play GOTM 7 to completion, my target is approxiately 800 engineers to clean up the nasty terrain around the world. Right now, I have only 52 and lots to do,

In AD 700, my score was almost exactly 700... and in AD 1000, it is just shy of 1000. So does this mean my score will only be 1900 in AD 1900, LOL?
The planned strategy for the next 500 years is to expand, particularly in Asia and the Americas. Short term, I need refrigeration to support hordes of Engineers, and the Corporation to start a strong supply of gold and science. I'd like about 5,000 gold per turn by AD 1500, and 20,000 gold per turn by 1800. In addition, I'd like to have all science completed 1750... we'll see how it goes by AD 1500
