What's a good city for Military Academy? Probably the capitol after the coal plant, I guess. A couple of tank armies later will be nice. If we build MA, why don't throw in Pentagon for kicks too?

I agree with Bede, more Inf. and we're set to take on Byz. When that happens, it's the usual raze and replace for us.
 
capitol can do probably 44spt with the factory, so it'll probably do 60+ with the coal plant. Should be good enough for some armies :hammer:

Banks/SE's + Wall Street would be very nice right now to help our stealin' ways
 
Our border town with the Byzantines in the west (Oiogouen) has a stack of artillery etc in in but still has a 4% flip risk (mapst). Thats a 50% chance in 17 turns by my rough calculation: too high for comfort. I think we ought to empty all but the mandatory 2 units from this town.
 
Pre-flight – 1250 – Well we are in an alliance against Carthage for 19 turns, so a war footing is appropriate.

IBT - China and Carthage sign a treaty.

1255 – Plant an agent in Carthage. They have a strong navy and a lot of rifles.

IBT – Japan and China sign a treaty.

1260 – Plant a spy in Theodora’s bedroom. She has 89 infantry, a strong navy and not much else. Oh, 6 settlers :smoke:

IBT – Start the military academy in Salamanca.

After Action – This is a very phony war. We really need to maximize our economy. We’ll need to get stock exchanges in as many cities as possible and we’ll need Wall Street. Eventually we may need to increase our science capability, but for the moment it all needs to be cash buildings or military.

IT - America signs in with Sumeria against Carthage.

1280 AD (1) - Since the Americans are now on our team, give them Nationalism for 6gpt, free artistry, and 191g.

1285 AD (2) - I seem to recall railroads.

IT - Sumerians finish Hoover Dam. So we are falling off the pace a bit.

1290 AD (3) -

IT - Now Japan is brought in against Sumeria.

1295 AD (4) -

IT - And now Sumeria and Carthage make peace.

1300 AD (5) - All I did all turn was make money and build railroads. We have more than enough for a safe steal, but I figured I would let the next player pull the trigger. As a steal doesn't really open up any trading opportunities at this point, I was rather hoping someone would learn something useful to us, but that looks as though it is overly wishful thinking. Railroading is done, and there is a huge stack of workers somewhere random for pollution cleanup. We could start merging natives into cities, I would think.

Oh, gozpel, sorry I didn't play my turn yet. I figured I needed to do this first, but I really want to sleep now, so it will have to wait another day.

I figured it would be lazy turns, continue to build Inf. and try to steal. Money is worth nothing, except when we use it. ;)

Yes, please. Just leave 18-24 or so (full) workers hanging around, for cleaning up measures. I thought about the same thing and read back, but of course Bedhead is awake. :thumbsup:

our military production is slowly picking up after all those infra builds
since Byz landed some big stack at neo... at hittite land sign them in for 500gold only
then sell them iron for 33gpt and the 500gold

pound Adrianople but this will be a harder nut to crack we need more arty

IT Byz take Neo but are then overrun by Hittites

ok, i'll play tonight. I was going to play Thursday, but I've had this stomach thing that's been sapping me of all my energy this last week. I'm ok now, so it's :hammer: time
 
Preflight check: Sell Corp to China for Ironclads, WM, 17gpt, and 20g
Sell Commie to Japan for 13gpt and 30g

IBT: Byz land 2 units (Inf and Cav) near Mauch Chunk

T1: 1330AD Kill 1 Rambo and 4 Infantry in Andranople. There’s a stack of 6 infantry sitting near the border, so I rotate them back for MP duty and move up Cav so we can have a bigger attack force next turn.

Mauch Chunk starts Wall Street.

IBT: Pentagon completed. Byz land 4 units near Mauch Chunk

T2: 1335AD Take care of the landing. Kill 1 Rambo and 5 Inf in Andro. Also destroy most improvements and get the pop down to 6 with Arty

Carefully steal Steel from Sumeria. He is up Combustion and AT still.

IBT: Japan and Byz sign trade embargo against us

T3: 1340AD Capture Andronple, raze it.

Capitol jumps to Prilep, which should make the Byz a bit stronger

T4: 1345AD Moving Arty and stuff around. I organized the workers into Nationalities as well as pollution busting groups.

IBT: America and Hittites sign MA vs Japan. Hittites ask us to pile on as well but I decline.

T5: 1350AD Sell Commie to America for Silks, WM, 20gpt, and 50g. Execute a careful steal from the Byz, take Combustion
Attack Chalcedon. Don’t have enough arty to redline everything, but we have a lot of cavs so I press the issue, getting this on the 1st try

However, the attack stalls so I move up more cav and arty. It should fall next turn unless it get’s reinforced by another transport.

I’ve been building Infantry for the coastal cities and then moving the junk units to the interior cities to free up cavs. We have a lot of cavs than still need to be freed-up.

Ok, better and better by the turns, now we just have to get rid of Byz from our island at least. Settlers will be handy now or very soon, to fill in the gaps.

At this stage, what's the cheapest unit we can build? We could use a few cheap ones for MP duties, since attack forces are quite important.
 
Well, no reply. I will make another army then. Ideally I'd like tanks in it.

Sumeria has got awfully big and is likely to roll over some of the others now. However, if we can secure our own continent and a really good economy we ought to be able a win: space most likely.
