GR18-AWM Genocide Variant vs 30 Civs.

The Save

My photobucket account is currently not working so I am going to have to do this in more than one post. Figures the one time I make a LOT of pictures the pictures don't work.

Preturn:
Sink 3 ships with Hwacha. Killed a few infantry.
Cover some workers on coast near bomard units. Otherwise I think they will just get attacked.
We have Armies sitting unfilled and 15K in the bank. I spend 1/3 on rushing partially built MA to get the armies filled.

IBT: So much bombardment that covering workers with 2 Infantry and it is still bombarded to nothing They are locked in the inland sea.

Byzantine: Cairo Falls to the South, Dyrrachium, Sardica (size 28),. Smyrna, Heraclea, Eretria, Rhodes, and Argos.
German: Stuttgart Razed.
England: Oxford, Hastings, Dover Razed.
Incan: Machu Picchu (with Newton's - size 24?) and Cuzco (with Sistine size 30) is Razed.

Build replacement settler-attack towns to turn leader from prev turn into Army before any Elite Attacks.
Get 2 leaders killing the Egyptian units. Lose a Cav Army vs an Infanty in a City so Build 3rd Army of turn.
Get another leader and build cities to replace Razed to get our 86th Army (so we have 344 cities).
Get a final leader for the 87th.
I don't think France's lands will be connected to ours. They have Elephants while none appear where we are.

I have started cutting roads and rails to lessen the units needed for defense. I also moved out all armies from towns to the South. There is an (acceptable) risk of losing a town if I missed a fast unit down there.

So 14 cities razed and rebuilt this turn, 87 Armies (at max)
Didn't rush MA this turn.

IBT: Lot of Bombardment.

Picture is the two parts of the front.

1996 AD: Another Army
England: Raze York, London, Coventry, Nottingham, Fez, Brighton, and Newcastle. Can't see more English towns but the are not Eliminated.
Incan: Raze Ollyantaytambo, Andahuaylas,
Byzantine: Raze Athens.

IBT: There are tens of Egyptian and Portuguese troop in the farthest northwest here. Looks like AI wars pulled many troops up here. I think it was mostly fighting the Greeks and Rome given the city names. Our last chances for leaders are looking decent because of this (otherwise we would be getting nothing).

1997 AD: We are seeing the top of the other Continent Gain 2 Armies, but lose a Green health Cav Army to a Guerilla.
Incan: Raze Tiwanaku (with Magellan's), Vitcos, Corihuayrachina, Vilcas, Huamanga, Delphi. Can't see any Incan towns but the are not Eliminated.
Byzantine: Raze Sparta, Pharsalos, Thermopylae, Thesselonica, Ephesus, Knossos, Herakleia, Pisae and Virconium Byzantines are destroyed
Greek: Hispalis
English: Artemisium, Pompeii English have ceased to be
Germany: Rome, Lutetia Germans are pushing up the daisies
Portuguese: Braga
Bombard a huge stack of Egyptian units.

1998 AD:
Egypt: Raze Aurelianorum
Portugal: Raze Orporto (Smiths), Evora, Lisbon, Guimaraes, Sagres
Kill huge stack of units. Get a leader.

1999 AD:
Incan: Raze Arequippa
Portugal: Raze Lagos, Emerita
Egyptian: Raze Neapolis, Brundisium, Byzantium
Another 2 Leaders for 92 Armies
We are finally reaching the tips of the continent in the NE and NW. There is only a land bridge to more land in the central part of the map.

In honor of the second millenium, we prep for two invasions to the north and south. We abandon a unit and then Rush Boats. Next turn we get Satelites for a clear picture of the world for our invasion.

IBT: Oops I spent so much gold we lost a Random Barracks somewhere.

2000 AD: This continent has much more than left than I thought. All I could see was the choke and Syracuse. Check out what is on the other side (see pic).
Science to 0% Computers in 8.

Initial landing on Smaller Island and Southern Continent.

Portugal: Raze the last city on this side of the Choke.
Rushed more transports with units like cannon and such.
Two Barracade thingy's slow movement over the choke.

2001 AD:
Note that portugal cities across choke have higher culture and so will be harder to take out - especially with forest everywhere.

Egypt: Raze Syracuse, Palmyra, Caesaraugusta, Tarentum
Initial landing on Northern Continent
First attacks on the island and Southern Continent. Several Transports have been rushed now to Ferry across our Armies.

IBT: Our transport for Chinese lands is sunk (empty). First landing in a while near Alphabet Street

2002 AD:
Portugal: Raze Sao Paulo
Greek (island): Raze Troy
Aztec (southern Continent): Raze Texcoco, (built city to land boats), Tenochtitlan
Egypt: Jerusalem
Built new town to the N and rushing a battle ship (via unit disband and cash) + new transport.

IBT: N transport sunk again

2003 AD:
Main Big Continent:
Egypt: Raze Miletos, Artaxata, Selucia Egyptians have gone to meet their maker
Portugal: Luanda, Alcacer, <forgot name>

North Continent:
China: I have been beating on Shanghai killed about 10 units and 2 Armies injured. 3rd sent across
Rush two transports for 2 more Armies for the North.

South Continent: Aztec units show up. Bring over 4 transports of Artillery to bombard. Attack with Modern Armor that was Airlifted last turn. Get a Leader and Army 93.
Aztec: Raze Tlatelolco, Calixtlahuaca,

Islands:
Greek: Raze Pergamon, Halicarnassus. Kill Chinese troops and this Island is cleared Greeks hava ascended to a higher plane
Portugal: Raze Faro on an island off the Coast of the big Continent,

IBT: Lost a Destroyer somewhere. Many many Aztec/Persian troops some Mongol Cavalry for our cities on the southern Continent. Note that Persia and Aztec are nearly the same color.

2004 AD:
Main Island:
Inca: Raze Nasca. Incans have kicked the bucket
Portugal: Raze Catelo Branco
The main continent is now Cleared.

North Continent: Kill 6 more units in Shanghai. Two or our Modern Armies are now badly injured and need to heal. One attacked 4 times this round (for a total of 6 more attacks). Two more healthy Armies are dropped off. Next turn it should fall.

South Continent: Get 2 new Armies killing Persians, Aztecs, Mongol Troops
Aztec: Raze Xochicalco, Malinalco, Teotihuacan.

Notes:
We have 95 Armies! Lets see how many we can get :D

Most bare wonder screen I have seen in a while for this late in the game :D

I don't think there will be more than 10 turns left. Chinese island will be most tricky (getting all units across). You could build more cities to rush transports in.

I did not MM the cities on the final turn. Feel free to do so if you so desire. Don't know that it will make much difference though.

Bunch of pictures:

Fantastic round , and thanks for all the screenshots.

BTW, we can found two more cities before we hit Enter. It's worth keeping up with this so that we don't have to chase settlers around at the end.

Fantastic progress. :goodjob: I was pretty certain that the AI is on the brink of meltdown during my turns.

And agreed with NP, please do settle any extra city, we can' afford to chase galleys with settlers out in th ocean.

lurker's comment: Why don't you edit into your turnset to say "The Greeks/Byzantines/Egyptians/Inca/Germans/English were destroyed"?

How about you abandon Seoul and Cheju on the final turn to have a completely bare screen? :mischief:

Must have razed two cities after I last settled to full. Probably the Aztec cities when I crossed over new armies in the transports.

Not what I meant. :p I meant saying when in your set they were destroyed.

For example, say "Byzantines are destroyed" after Virconium was razed (that apppeared to be when they died).

Oh, nevermind, I just thought that would be helpful while the pics were attached.

I was originally going to interlace the pictures into the report with each picture appearing at the correct place. This was thwarted when photobucket was down and I had to use attachments.

[Edit: I did as you requested and added comments upon their demise. I hope I got all the placements correct.]

Great round !:goodjob: Looking back I would say this was our toughest breakout in these series of monster map AW games.

lurker's comment: It would appear so. That makes it a bit easier until your Photobucket account starts working and you can use the pic where you want them to be.

I agree that this one was a hard one with three fronts and no GLib. We would have lost at the emperor level difficulty.

I would like to discuss the next game and make sure there is still interest in playing these large games.

My thought for the next game was to see if we could win at demi-god continents with a (very) good start (standard 'no initial trade' AWDG). We could try other ideas if the players don't like this one or think it too hard.

Are you talking about 31 civ type game Greebley? If so the frigate harrassment will be horrendous. The danger of losing to other forms of victory conditions will come into play.
