GR18-AWM Genocide Variant vs 30 Civs.

Mumpulus just so you know I did send the army in the south to attack the size town. Killed 2 spears, but they have at least a sword and an archer there, so I sent it to cover the new town.

I thought I could take it down with 1 or 2 defenders, no such luck.

Ok... We have 9 enemies, we're at turn 166.

0) 510AD
We are employing 4 tax collectors at -3gpt. If I change all of those to scientists, Philo drops from 4 turns to 3. I can reduce science to 30% to get back to 4 turns, and from -11gpt to +5gpt. Scientists are always better than tax collectors.

Then I go on to fire some of those specialists, because we need more units, and we're not building them in the most efficient way:
  • Seoul stagnates and goes max commerce at 10spt. I will improve tiles to get to 15spt.
  • P'yongyang back to 10spt
  • Wonsan changed from barracks to settler
  • Pusan is wasting food so changed to worker
  • Likewise for Nampo
  • Hyangsan is building wealth , changed to cat
  • Chonju changed to walls
  • Kaesong changed to catapult

I'm thinking with all the towns the Dutch have founded in the desert, there must be incense and saltpeter there. I'll be looking for that if I get the chance. While I'm looking, I spy this:
gr18_510AD_promised_land.jpg

Military actions then:
  • Use cats in Hyangsan to ping that GS at Wonsan once more (1 hit out of 3)
  • Seeing the amount of units approaching Wonsan, and the lack of support there, I switch Wonsan back to barracks and rush them for 2 pop.
  • Move settler and spear from Seoul towards the hills in between Cheju and Inch'on.
  • Also rush rax in Cheju.

I end up with Philo in 4 at 30% and +1gpt.

Closing notes for the IHT: we cannot afford to stop building settlers, and we cannot afford to diminish our MM efforts.

IT
At Some Song, a Jav dies on our army
At Paegam 2 Spanish archers die on our army
Near Inch'on, 2 Otto swords die on our exposed 3hp eSword [5-0, 2e]

Seoul: Horseman > Swordsman
Wonsan: Barracks > Settler
Nampo: Worker > Swordsman
Cheju: Barracks > Spearman
Paegam: Barracks > Swordsman

1) 520AD
At Wonsan: eSword kills GS, vSword kills Dutch spear,
At Inch'on: redline Viking rSword with cats, eSword kills Viking rArcher,
At Paegam: eSword kills yellowlined Spanish rSpear, army kills rArcher clean
At Nampo: 4hp eHorse kills redline Spanish rSpear, eSword kills Zulu rWarrior clean
At Cheju: cats do badly (2/6), no attacks [12-0, 7e]

I start to wonder where all our workers are, when I notice we only have 9 (and I just built one of those). Switch Wonsan to worker.

IT
A stack of 6 Numidians and 3 warriors that had appeared last IT is now blocked to the south, therefore moves to the north of Some Song. Only two attacks: 2 Hittite vSwords die on our army in Paegam. [14-0, 7e]

Pusan: Worker > Swordsman
Some Song: Spearman > Worker

2) 530AD
At Paegam: vSword kills Hittite rSpear clean, vSword kills 3hp vSword, army kills 3hp vSword, and retreats into town for now.
At Wonsan: eHorse kills redlined GS clean, eSword kills redlined GS
At Taejon: vHorse kills lone Celt rWarrior that left his fortified position just outside our borders when I left the town empty
At Some Song: ping a Mayan vSword, eSword kills redlined Impi, eSword retreats vImpi
At Cheju: cats go 2/6 again, so nothing
At Iron City: redline a single Viking rSword, eArcher kills it, cover with army, which also kills a Viking vSword just because it can [23-0, 11e]

IT
The Celts are moving around Hyangsan towards empty Taejon it would seem. The Ottos are heading towards empty Seoul now, and the Carthaginians also decide to move on (11 Mercs in our lands now). Only one attack this time: 1 Hittite vSword dies on the army in Paegam. [24-0, 11e]

P'yongyang: Swordsman > Swordsman
Wonsan: Worker > Worker

3) 540AD
At Hyangsan: eSword retreats GS
At Paegam: eSword kills healthy Hittite vSword, army kills another and is down to 6hp now, move it back to Pusan to heal.
At Inch'on: ping a Viking vSword
At Iron City: ping a Viking vSword
At Cheju: cats do ok now, but the Ottos are on a mountain now
At Nampo: cats go 2/4, eHorse dies on redlined Spanish rSpear (4% chance of that happening), then eSword dies on yellowline Spanish rSpear without making a scratch (5% chance of that happening) :gripe:, vSword then barely kills that second spear
At Wonsan: cats go 3/4 on three Hittite rSpears, vSword kills one [28-2, 12e]

It would appear as if you're having bad luck in leaders, but good luck in battles.

Well, so far I've had 28 wins (12 elite) and not a single promotion.

Switch Seoul to horse to compensate for the horse loss. Switch Pusan to catapult, because it's doing 7spt now.

Around Cheju:
gr18_540AD_Cheju.jpg

Osman has 14 swords, 5 spears, 1 horse around

Around Iron City:
gr18_540AD_IronCity.jpg

Ragnar has 6 swords and 1 spear around

Around Paegam:
gr18_540AD_Paegam.jpg

Mursilis has 5 swords around, Izzy 3 archers and that dreaded spear

Around Some Song:
gr18_540AD_SomeSong.jpg

Smokey has 3 javs, 2 spears and 1 sword around, Willy a single spear, Shaka a single impi, Hannibal has 11 Numidian mercenaries, 4 warriors, and 1 sword

Around Hyangsan:
gr18_540AD_Hyangsan.jpg

Brennus has 6 Gallic swordsmen, 2 spears, and 1 archer, Mursilis 2 spears

There will be a lot of work with those Numidians, but other than that all this is manageable. Things will get more difficult in the coming turns, when I'll try to get a roading crew out north.

These turns are taking very long to plan everything carefully (and replan when something goes inexplicably wrong), but I'll continue right away... Stay tuned :)

lurker's comment: What do "p" and "l" mean? ;)

P is for promotions, L is for leaders :), and I've been counting L as a subset of P. So, 6 regular promotions in 90 victories, that's not too much, is it?

I am happy about the leader count though, but it hasn't brought us too much, as we're at the army limit, and will be for a while.

I lacked workers to road to our next city site, so Wonsan has been on those for a couple of cycles, and is now finally onto a settler again.

Well we could rush the HE with a leader, if one had shown up during these last 10 turns or so turns.

Sorry, I forgot to mention the tax men issue. I saw them, but forgot to see if it would be better to use beaker heads.

We are getting into a real box now with no progress and the Middle Ages soon to hit us.

During Mark's turn set he mentioned that three workers were lost. The other problem is that we have few places to use workers that does not put them at risk or need an army to cover. We can't spare the armies for that job now.

Read on...

We are getting into a real box now with no progress and the Middle Ages soon to hit us.

Yes, this isn't going to get easier. We have no choice but to continue, and to try and get more towns. The Dutch will be trading for iron at some point, I just hope we've made a dent by then, else we're in deep doo-doo.

IT
The stupid impi heals to 2hp and of course attacks our redlined vSword, but dies. Our sword promotes (that's a first)
At Cheju, our settler trio is attacked by the Vikings: a vSword kills our vSpear, then a 3hp vSword and a 2hp vSword die on our second vSpear, promoting it.
At Peagam, the Hittites attack: vSword kills eSpear, vSword dies on vSword promoting it, 3hp vSword dies on vSpear covering our roading crew. The Celts only move. The wounded Ottos move on flat land to get clear :hammer: [33-4, 12e, 3p]

Seoul: Horseman > Swordsman
Ulsan: Spearman > Swordsman

4) 550AD
2 Mayan-colored swords have appeared during the IT, but they're not Mayan at all. Say hi to the Sumerians. One rSword popped up NE-NE of Some Song, another W-W of Hyangsan.

Found Sumeriwon to commemorate this joyous occasion, start walls. Our gpt goes up by 7.

At Iron City: cats go 2/2 to redline Viking rSword
At Wonsan: 3hp vSword retreats 2hp vGS, eHorse out of Hyangsan kills it
At Hyangsan: cats go 1/2 to yellowline Celt rArcher
At Cheju: 2 eSwords kill 2 2hp rSwords clean, cats go 4/6
At Paegam: cats go 1/2, eSword redlines but then kills Hittite vSword, vSword kills 3hp vSword
At Some Song: army kills 2 rMercs at the expense of 2hp, vSword kills 2hp rMerc, vSword redlines but kills Dutch vSpear, 3hp eSword takes a chance and kills 2hp rMerc clean
At Nampo: vSword kills Spanish vArcher, vSword kills Spanish rArcher clean
At Sumeriwon: army kills Viking 2hp rSpear, 4hp eArcher kills 1hp vSword and finally:
gr18_philo_archer.jpg

Syngman Rhee is born, move him to Cheju rather than making an army immediately, because there's not enough around to fill the army, and it'll take longer to get the army in place. [47-4, 18e, 4p]

I have to cover at various places, and lots of attacks are possible, so this will be my most important IT so far...

IT
The Celts don't attack but gather at Taejon
At Nampo, our vSword defeats a Spanish rArcher and promotes
At Sumeriwon, our eSpear defeats 2 attacking Otto 3hp vSwords
At Nampo, our vSpear is killed by a Carthaginian rSword [50-5, 18e, 5p]

Philosophy comes in, start on Literature, which is cheapest.

Pusan: Catapult > Catapult
Nampo: Swordsman > Swordsman
Inch'on: Catapult > Catapult

5) 560AD
Build army in P'yongyang, put 2 swords in

At Wonsan: cats go 6/10, eHorse kills redlined Celt rSpear, vSword dies on 2hp rMerc, 3rd army kills 2 2hp rMercs at the expense of another 4hp. 4th army kills another 2hp rMerc. 3hp eSword kills rWarrior, 2 vHorses kill 2 rWarriors,
At Iron City: cats go 3/4, vSword kills redlined Viking vSword
At Cheju: cats go 3/6
At Taejon: Move 2nd army in, ping the vGS
At Sumeriwon: eSword kills Viking 3hp vSword, vHorse kills Otto 2hp rSword, 1st army moves toward Hareid [60-6, 21e, 5p]

Research at 30% and break-even, literature in 15 turns.

IT
An rGS dies on our army in Taejon. A Viking galley approaches, but they're still in the AA. [61-6, 21e, 5p]

Seoul: riots because the governor is stupid, and because I didn't anticipate enough
P'yongyang: Swordsman > Swordsman
Wonsan: Worker > Settler (finally)
Some Song: Worker > Catapult
Iron City: Walls > Catapult

6) 570AD
At Some Song: cats go a very disappointing 1/6 on a single rMerc, eSword dies on it, 3hp eSword then kills it, vHorse kills rWarrior
At Taejon: cat misses, 3rd army kills rGS
At Nampo: cats go 0/3 on a Mayan rSpear, then an eSword dies on it , eSword kills 3hp vJav, eSword kills the rSpear.
At Wonsan: cats go 3/5, a Dutch stack remains untouched
At Seoul: cats go 2/6 on Otto stack, eSword kills rSword, eSword kills 2hp rSpear, vSword kills 2hp rSpear, 2nd army kills 2hp rSword. A rHorse remains on the mountain, out of reach
At Paegam: vSword kills 2hp Spanish rSpear, leaving Paegam empty
At Sumeriwon: eSword kills Otto rSword, and Kim Il Sung is born
At Hareid: 1st army kills 2 rSpears [72-8, 26e, 6p]

I decide to rush the HE in P'yongyang, because we have a few leader-chances on defense. We're employing 3 entertainers this turn.

IT
Celts go for Hyangsan again: 2 vGSs retreat on our eSpear
The Dutch attack Wonsan: 2 rArchers and 1 vArcher die on our vSpear and vSword, promoting our sword without making a scratch. The last archer pillages the road, and the spears move toward Hyangsan.
The Otto rHorse kills our eSword near Seoul
Carthage lands a warrior near Ulsan [75-9, 26e, 7p]

P'yongyang: Heroic Epic > Swordsman
Taejon: Swordsman > Horseman

7)580AD
At Hyangsan and Taejon, cats go 5/8, then eSword attacks Dutch spear and:
gr18_hyangsan_swordsman.jpg

Rush FP in Some Song.

At Hyangsan: vSword kills Dutch spear, vHorse kills 1hp vGS and promotes, vSword kills Dutch rArcher
Near Seoul: cats do well this time, eHorse kills the landed warrior, 2nd army kills Otto sword and horse.
Near Hyangsan: 3rd army kills 3hp vGS, but is down to 4hp now. It goes on to kill another redlined vGS, then is covered by an eSpear.
Near Wonsan: 4th army covers roading crew, and kills 2hp Mayan rSpear
At Nampo: cats go 5/5, eSword kills redlined vJav, 2hp vHorse dies on redlined vSword
At Iron City: cats go 2/2 to redline a Viking rSword
At Hareid: 1st army kills vSword and rSpear [88-10, 29e, 9p]

We are very thin on troops right now, we could loose Paegam.

Switch Pusan to spear, Nampo to spear, Ulsan to spear. 2 entertainers this turn.

IT
Not the best IT imaginable...
At Nampo, a vJav and rSword die on our eSpear
We loose an exposed redlined vSword and the eSpear covering the army to vGSs
Spain doesn't attack, so Paegam stands, but the Hittites are finally back with a big stack
The remaining Dutch rArcher kills our healthy vSword near Wonsan
The Ottos do the most damage, killing our eSpear with an eSword and our *eArcher with a vSword
The Vikings land a vSword near Ulsan [90-14, 31e, 9p]

Seoul: Swordsman > Swordsman
Pusan: Spearman > Swordsman
Nampo: Spearman > Swordsman
Cheju: Spearman > Spearman
Hyangsan: Catapult > Catapult
Ulsan: Spearman > Swordsman
Some Song: Forbidden Palace > Spearman
Kaesong: Catapult > Catapult

This is as far as I got yesterday (my SO wanted to do something else than watching me play civ). I'll finish up right after posting this.

During Mark's turn set he mentioned that three workers were lost. The other problem is that we have few places to use workers that does not put them at risk or need an army to cover. We can't spare the armies for that job now.

I agree it's difficult to just let an army sit there on top of some workers, but that's what we'll have to do if we're to make progress again, and progress is what we'll need if we're to win this game. My view on this is:
  • Since we got an extra army now, we have to have the discipline to have workers doing a meaningful task up north every turn, and use an army for cover if needed.
  • We have to have the discipline to keep Wonsan on nothing but settlers and maybe sometimes a worker; but workers should mostly be skimmed out of towns that are at their limit (either pop or happy).
  • Because we are taking one army out most of the time, we'll have to do some other fighting on odds that aren't that good, so we'll have some losses. That can't be helped. Keep on building troops.
Just to clarify on the losses so far:
  • 2 were on attack with odds above 95%
  • 2 were on attack with odds above 86%
  • 1 was on defense with odds around 75%
  • 1 was on attack with odds around 60%
  • 5 were on defense with odds around 50%
  • 1 was on defense with odds around 25%, which came about because of a 50% loss
  • 1 was on attack with odds around 72%, but which I shouldn't have done (could have solved that differently)
  • 1 was on defense with odds around 70%, but I shouldn't have exposed that unit, should have been more patient
  • 1 was on defense with odds around 4% :), should have been more patient, but risked pillaging (very small risk though, from a redlined spear)
Some of the good attack odds could actually have been even better if only the cats would hit more often (like in turn 6 for example)...

A few more turns coming up later today...

9) 590AD
Near Pusan: cats go 2/3 on landed Viking vSword, eHorse kills him clean

So far for the easy part, now the bad news: I have 1 healthy sword up north, and 11 enemy units I'd like to kill. Guess I'll have to prioritize.

At Nampo: cats go 5/6, since I'll need every attacker next turn, I use the *Spear out of Nampo to attack a redlined rSpear, and win loosing 1hp. eSword kills redlined vJav clean.
Near Seoul: vSword kills 2hp rSpear clean and promotes, cats go 1/4 to yellowline rSpear, 4hp *Sword kills him clean
At Iron City: cats go 1/2 on rSword, vSword kills it
At Hyangsan: cats go 2/2 on 3hp vGS, eHorse kills him clean, last cat pings a 2hp vGS
At Cheju: 2nd army kills rSword on the Seoul road, 3 cats can then move in to bomb, but they go 1/3 only and can't do anything useful. Sumeriwon may be attacked by 5 swords, with only an eSpear, an eSword and a vHorse to defend...
At Inch'on: cats luckily go 2/2 on a rSpear, have nothing to kill him with though (our eSpear has a 76% chance, but with my luck, I'm not risking it)
At Paegam: ping a spear, move another cat in from Nampo to help defend
At Some Song: cats go 3/3 to yellowline 3 rMercs, 4th army kills 2 at the expense of 1hp, then use a fourth cat to redline the remaining rMerc. I have an extra cat that pings an approaching Mayan rSpear.
Near Hareid: 1st army kills retreating redlined rSword; it's down to 7hp now, so the Hareid campaign will be on hold again [101-14, 34e, 10p]

The Seoul area is clear again, so workers can start working towards 15spt.
Switch Nampo to worker because it will get to max food before finishing a different build. During MM I finally notice the oasis near Iron City has been irrigated instead of mined :hmm:

IT
At Sumeriwon, our eSpear defends against a vSword. The main Otto stack decides to cross the river first.
At Paegam, our vSpear defends against a Hittite vSword, our eSpear against another.
At Some Song, Carthage finally attacks: a vSword dies on our eSp, a rMerc on our vSpear. [106-14, 37e, 10p]

The Zulus are blocked again, so go north once more (let's hope this dance continues for a while).
The Celts move around Hyangsan.
The first Dutch sword appears.

Not a single build finishes, one could have, but Hittite spears occupied some tiles, couldn't be avoided.

10) 600AD
There are now 6 Otto swords that can attack Sumeriwon, but I think they may be going for empty Iron City. If Sumeriwon is to stand, I have to keep Iron City empty, but there's a spear threatening it, and I only have an eSpear in range to attack it.

At Iron City: cats go 1/3 only, only 60% of winning with our eSpear. Well, it's all or nothing on Sumeriwon anyway, one defense 1 unit is not going to make a difference, but an empty town might, so I use the vHorse out of Sumeriwon to kill the Viking spear clean.
At Pusan and Paegam: cats go 3/4 to yellowline the 3 spears on our improved tiles, vSword kills one clean, eHorse kills another, vSword takes the last one clean. One extra cat misses approaching vSword.
At Wonsan: cats go 2/4, then I waste a bombardment by miscounting cat movement, eSword kills Hittite 2hp rSpear, eHorse kills another. 4th army kills Sumerian rSword clean, and moves onto next tile to road
At Hyangsan: cats go 3/3, eSword kills 2hp rGS, 2nd army kills healthy vGS
At Nampo: cats go 2/3 on a Spanish rSpear, to expose a rArcher, which is killed by an eSword, then more cats go 1/2 on Mayan rSpear, cover one tile with used horse from Wonsan, another with a spear from Wonsan. Wonsan is now defended by a single 4hp eSword, with one 2hp vGS in range.
At Some Song: cat redlines retreating Mayan rSpear
At Cheju: cats go 2/2 to redline a rSpear, 4 cats are unemployed this turn [116-14, 42e, 10p]

Switch Kaesong to worker, because extra tile on growth will be poor.

Important MM notes
  • Seoul: looks to be starving, but will pick up the one missing food when the workers finish irrigating during the IT. Do not take a tile from Ulsan, even if it seems Ulsan can use another tile: that other tile will be blocked on the IT because the Viking galley will drop a unit there (this has been the landing spot until now). I've been working to get Seoul to 15spt, and we're nearly there. We're at 10spt now, the gems mine will complete on the IT, that 1spt, we can steal the mined BG from Cheju, that's 2spt, another mined BG from P'yongyang, that's 3spt, and then finally merge a worker into Seoul after mining the plains tile SE of the horses. I was actually planning on mining the plains tile that is now being irrigated, but I forgot when issuing the worker orders . I realize merging a worker at this point and with us having so few, this is unorthodox, but it will be a huge help to us. While working the gems, Seoul will only need 1 MP I think. In that configuration, it can slowly grow to use non-BG tiles again. Alternatively, we can mine another gems mountain for extra gold and break-even food, which would be even better, but we need the worker turns more elsewhere.
  • P'yongyang: needs 1 MP to change the entertainer into a scientist, or rather 2 MPs to employ all citizens and free up the BG for Seoul when we're ready there.
  • Wonsan: still has unhappiness about the barracks rush, so it can only do 5 turns settlers for now, which should be ok given our military situation.
  • Pusan: was stable at 6spt, but got a break now after the configuration at Paegam got messed up by intruders. There should be no problem to keep it at 8spt for the current Swordsman build. It needs its 2 MPs for that though, so take care when shuffling units.
  • Nampo: I managed this on the fly every turn, depending on what tiles were occupied. I've covered everything for the worker to finish. It can get to 8spt if not too many tiles are taken.
  • Cheju: will be very poor for a long time I fear. The workers near Seoul could irrigate that plains tile, but the mined BG will be lost anyway to Seoul. If we can build another town to the east, thus pulling in the furthest FP, we may be able to start improving here. Improving the nearest FP may not be possible with all the enemy units around.
  • Hyangsan: was lowest priority for tiles in the vicinity during my turns, and tiles often got blocked there. Just building cats here.
  • Ulsan: should stagnate at size 7, working a gems mountain and not needing an extra MP for that (it may even be possible to move out the MP that's currently there). Remember that the tile NE-N is the landing spot for the moment.
  • Inch'on: just building cats...
  • Some Song: has the FP now, so should be improved some time soon. That the reason why I think we need to bite the bullet and found directly on the game tile next (my "spot number 1"), then my "spot number 4", then my "spot number 2". After town 1, we should be able to the 3 BG tiles to the east. For now, MM is also ad hoc here, because of the interference from the enemy.
  • Taejon: quiet little town here, Celts have been approaching from the east, so no interference with tiles.
  • Paegam: has been working the hinterland, until tiles got messed up last turn, so now Pusan is favored. After Pusan's sword, you can decide to split up tiles again.
  • Iron City: not sure if mining the oasis would result in an uncorrupted shield. It hasn't been threatened really, and neither has Chonju, so no need for a barracks there I think. I've put it on slow growth in favor of extra shields and would advocate to keep it that way. There's little gain in growing that town for now.
  • Kaesong: will grow into a useless tile, which is why I've started the worker. Can build cats and workers at size 2 IMO.
  • Chonju: hasn't been under attack yet, building walls just to be safe. Would also alternate cats and workers here.
  • Sumeriwon: Needs rax after walls, because it can't be easily reinforced, because of the rivers and lack of roads. I've put it on high shields instead of growth because of the urgency of the matter. This may all be moot, because it may well fall on the IT.

In my strong opinion, the next leader should rush a temple in Wonsan, the one after that a temple in P'yongyang, the one after that will hopefully be able to build an army again.

wow, what an amazing write up :goodjob:

I agree with the need to simply use that one army to help expansion. We have no other choice.

markh, if you can, you can skip with Greebley as he is away the weekend

lurker's comment: How can you tell which units are Mayan and which are Sumerian? :crazyeye:

You have seen most of the units before the IBT, so you know which civs they represent. Some times, though you may forget and put in the wrong civ or in my case omit it.

It is not critical to know, just helps a bit with trying to figure out if the are gassed yet. Once Knights appear, it will be harder as they can come from the fog.

Of course we hope to have eliminate a few civs about that time, but so far that is a pipe dream.

Right now it will probably be easiest because of UU's. If its a Warrior, Spearman, or Jav Thrower, it's Mayan. If it's an Archer or Enkidu Warrior, it's Sumerian. And I think you said that The Maya don't have Iron (Which you don't know), so Swords must be Sumerian. :crazyeye:

ThERat said:
wow, what an amazing write up

Well, the length of it at least reflects the amount of time that went into playing these turns. Especially in the north, I found it useful to put cats in between towns as much as possible, and then deciding each turn what units were highest priority to get rid of, and what units would retreat when pinged. It pretty much comes down to that approach right now, there no way we can kill all the units that are coming in.

choxorn said:
How can you tell which units are Mayan and which are Sumerian?

Like vmxa said, I noted this before the IT. There hasn't been a Sumerian attack yet; next player will get to witness the first one I bet at Hyangsan. [Edit: I crossposted with choxorn; both have iron in fact and I haven't seen Enkidus, but yes, the Javs are a clear give-away.]

At this point, I don't think this game can be won. We just didn't expand fast enough, and we'll soon be facing more advanced units from several civs. We got lucky so far with many civs lacking resources, but as we can see from the Dutch sword appearing, that won't last much longer.

We just got unlucky with the many early contacts, and with the less than optimal lands. But if we continue to play carefully, we'll sure have a good time trying. And if we would win, that would be quite a feat. I'd never have thought a monarch game would ever be this challenging. :)

One mistake and we lose a city

From that note I infer that Sumeriwon survived :)

It's amazing how a game that should have been easy at the start is proving to be such a challenge. I reread the report of Gr17 around the year 600AD, and I think you knew 3 opponents then. What a difference...

I was thinking of starting a crowded game for Mump4, but no need to do that now, because we already have one on our hands right here :D

In any case, it's clear this game has to be played very carefully if we want to get anything out of it.

 Go Greebley!
