Unfortunately, I'm still crashing incessantly with the added Leaderheads. Is anyone else still experiencing this or is it possibly just something with my machine/configurations?

Personnaly, i have no trouble with 7.5 version, but i always crash on some scenario with version 7.0 (scenario Earth1000AD with west civ, crash always when i start, but not with chineses,khmer or japenese for example, strange... so i have not use 7.0). Try to use alternate leaderheads ( if i'm remember we can find static leader heads somewhere on civfanatics ).

Avain 3 of the plane models taken from VD and incorporated in LoR had broken nose nodes, and so don't animate properly (they just hover there frozen, instead of bobbing like other airplanes). Achilleszero has fixed the models, and they can be found here:

I was thinking about adding VD to my mod. Do I have to be worried about file size should I decide to add it?

Also, I seem to remember someone making an expansion that added art styles for civs like Hyborea and Transylvania. Did I imagine those or is it still possible to track them down?

Hey! I want to make a little mod for myself, based on Varietes Delectat, but I want to add more civilizations. I tried adding some, but I just end up when starting the game with a civ with no leader, no name, no uu no anything. I took that civ out of varietes delectat as a stand alone mod, and it worked fine. The civ in question is an unrelated civ that you guys have not made. (IE, just took it off of New Civilizations forum)

Is there any files that VD has that interrupts with it that I should know about? Alternatively, is it possible to take Polynesia and Poland civs (that you guys made) out of VD and play with it standalone?

Now that you are back from vacation, here is some more work for you! Leaders of VD optimized. Managed to cut of about 70mb of fat! They havent been tested in game so you will have to plug them in and see if all is well. But really I only messed with teextures. So the only things that would be wrong would be a random missing texture because I forgot to reassign it in the LH nif. Everything else is untouched.

@cfkane: well, VD's graphics fpks size is pretty close to a limit that starts causing MAFs. So I'd say that with VD and some minor graphs (<100Mb) you are still safe.

@TheLastOne36: You should take a look at e.g. Polynesian civ and check what needs to be done so you can have a custom civ. As to how to make those civs VD independent, yes, it can be done if you know what you are doing. I you have more specific questions feel free to ask.

@achilleszero: Great! Even though I fear that cutting 70Mb won't be enough to totally squash MAFs, but it should certainly help!

Memory Allocation Failure. Too much art will start causing MAF's. Of course the limit will differ from machine to machine. Total art file size, poly count, texture sizes all play a part in causing these. Leaderheads especially take up an enourmous amount of space per LH. But units are also a culprit, considering how many more of them there are.

I don't think Reagan is a leader in VD 7.5... I don't play modern era expansion, so I could be wrong. But if I'm not, then you added Reagan incorrectly. If it is in MEE, then forgive my ignorance.

unfortunatly thats not the problem. It happens for about 20 different leaders who are not in the game. I have to click ok for one as it pops, right before I enter Civ4 VD

DT, try reinstalling and running it without any of your modifications and see what happens. After you get a clean version running, go ahead and add your leaders, but do it one at a time and test it. Most modding errors are caused by throwing a whole bunch of stuff together, without testing each thing added first.

heh heh I appreciate the help but that is exactly what I did... the only options I enabled during installation is marder era. I do nothing else to it.. no mods.. no add ons ...nothing. just the basic VD 7.5 install... it happens everytime

If just made a fresh VD install just to be sure.
So DT, you most probably have installed Leaders of VD at some point, and uninstalled it sg similar. Please understand that this causes problem unless:
- you know how to do small changes to XML
- I made the entire VD WoC compliant, which I didn't do because there are other mods using VD

So in short: yes, you do need to reinstall VD. (You could also delete CustomAssets, but I don't think this will be necessary)

I assume you don't want so many leaders in those civs...? Well, with some minor XML editing you could do the cut, but I'm unsure about the fpk - whether the unused graphs will still cause problems or not...

sigh, no offense avian.. I love your add-on both this one and Quot capita. but I dont want the LH installed. I just wanted the basic game with different units. I only downloaded the LH pack once and that was to see if it would help me stop that cascade of XML errors. About 3 mins ago I uninstalled both VD 7.5 and what was the LH exp. I then proceeded to redownload the VD 7.5 and install it. it still pops up with the XML error.
I know abosolutely nothing about program editing. (which is why some time ago I ask you how to install VD (I believe 5). you told me to go into INI file and change MODS=0 to MODS=1.

DT, once you completely delete VD and reinstall it, you should NOT have these errors at all! Did you try this?
