Graphics Modification Requests Thread

Wow, you guys rock! Thanks alot.

I'd be happy to use either snipperrabit!!'s or Deon's icon, both are very good. Since I'm looking at two good icons though, I think what would look the best would be to combine them. Use the more epic looking letters and background globe from this icon http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=7998837&postcount=592 And combine it with the format (and partisan dude being the I in CIV) of the above icon http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=7999995&postcount=601

@Deon, the picture is good, and certainly useable. But my issue is it still doesn't capture the whole progression of Civilization. The bronze steam and tears mod still goes from 4000BC to 2050 (though I really should change it to 2100 now that I think about it).

I want to make another one that looks less slim ie make the globe a little bigger. Should I make the other size ? I don't think 16 & 32 are used anywhere but if you have a clue, I will be glad to learn more.
Where is this alternate partisan ? could someone provide me a link to it !

Deon said he drew it himself, so just pull it from the image in his post :)

Bah, 16 and 32 are common sizes for windows :).
The one in the system tray is 16, the one of the desktop is customized but usually 48x48.
Here it is.

ICO files are in the attachment. BTW, what about 2nd main menu picture?

Looks great snipperrabbit!! going to use that icon. Thank you so much guys. :goodjob:

Now, just need to get a proper intro screen, and I'll be golden.

You didn't answer me what was wrong with the 2nd one ;).
Oh, it just doesn't capture the image of CIV in general. It would be perfect for a modern era specific mod, which is kind of funny because your original intro screen would be great for an ancient era mod intro screen.

Going to brainstorm here:

What would be perfect is an intro that somehow presents the ideas of Revolutions, Industrial Era warfare (steamship navies are good, but not essential), and Legend Units. Also something having to do with Leonardo would be good too, or could possibly work on it's own (the BtS intro screen is just the AP). I wish I was better at the art stuff, but it's not my forte.

Edit: Oh did you mean the icon? It is very good, I've asked in the WolfRevolution thread to see if any users have a preference for which icon to use. Both are very good, and I can't decide... so I'll have the people who play the mod pick.

I meant main menu :).

And about icon, the only complaint about sniperrabbits is that it is too "tall" so it loses details on resize. I did all 4 sizes of mine to avoid bad details in a small picture :).

About ready to release a next version of the BST beta build... I'd really like a good intro screen if anyone has any ideas/suggestions.

Hi,

I need someone to help me make a workable .dds file from the model located here : http://www.mediafire.com/?trguey4ztmy . I have followed the tutorial from here : http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=171934 and all I get is a big fat red colored file with nothing distinguisable(?). I have asked in two threads and waited around 2 weeks without anyone posting a reply. I'm taking a chance here.

The model is about the HQ of IG Farben set in WW2. I have the pictures for each part of the building. I just don't know how to make the dds.

PS : My 3ds max version is 8.0 and I have downloaed and installed the texporter plugins.

Thank you for your time

I'm looking, please, for grid versions (XYZGrids.dds files) of the Warlords terrain set Warlords/Assets/Art/Terrain/Textures/Light/, so that it can be used in BTS.

Thanks again on the icons for BST guys, Deon's icon got the most votes in the WolfRevolution thread, so it's now the icon for BST. Looks real slick.

When RevDCM updates to 1.02 I'll need to update WolfRevolution to the new version. When I do I might as well put the new BtS install script with icons to more good use. Any chance I could get an icon for WolfRevolution? I'm thinking a late 19th or early 20th century warship, with the letters CIV in it just like the regular Civ4 icons.

Also still really need an opening screen for BST, if anyone has any ideas :please:

Awesome Deon. Will definatly use one of those.

Hi,

This might sound strange but I need a judge along the lines of a white colored wig wearing stereotyped renaissance british high ranking person.

If that's too much trouble...a military dress judge would do too.

A skin over an existing unit would do fine. I just stink at graphics.

Thanks.

Huh, but your dds is red. I thought you ask to apply an existing texture.
Also which version MAX is it? I can't open it with my 3ds max 7. Note that there're Civ4 converters only for 3dsmax 6 and 7.

I have made a scopion unit which I need to animate. Can someone do it (or even better show me a tutorial how to animate units for civilization from scratch)?

(p.s. before you animate it, is it ok to texture it after it's animated?)

It's nice that you see the problem. I'm unable to make a dds file for the model. I used version 8 and 9 with no difference in result. I can't find 3ds max version 6 or 7 so I can't do anything about it. It's too unpractical that to create units you would need a program that is not available anymore.

I kinda posted this as a cry for help
