Why can't you make dds? You need a photoshop of any version for it and official dds plugin. It's like to create a jpg.

You have to have earlier version to work with civ4, because noone did export plugins for later versions. This is unpractical but the only way.

I can't make the dds because when I do the file created is either all red with no contours or with alot less contours than I supposed to have that would indicate where to place the images inside the file. I'm stuck and dunno what to do.

Does anyone know about units and leaders graphics that depict fairly normal, everyday people? I've seen a couple of the units for the Fury Road mod that would work.

I'm working on a mod that takes place in a current-day setting, a few units I can think of that I definitely must have (even if I have to make them myself):

State Highway Patrol Troopers - I saw a good one for Civ3, but haven't seen a Civ4 one yet
Volkswagon Bus - I'd say vintage 1967-1974, the classic hippie van
Policeman - normal, speeding-ticket-writing policeman
-and/or- Police Car - a regular civilian automobile with police markings
Backpacker - just a person with hiking gear and a pack

Stuff like that - normal everyday people and vehicles - doctors, fire trucks, ambulances, construction workers, homeless people, you get the picture. I'm not sure I have the time or skills to pull all that off myself.

Wrong forum for units .

But look at the download database, for the modern and other units.
There are some, workers with guns, a citizen with a gun, punks, a gangster, a policeman, and a doctor. Can't think of more atm.

Looked through this forum, and also looked through the DB, can't find anything that looks right.

I'm looking for a "Story Circle" or "Fire Circle" or "Flint Circle" or some such structure where people make arrow heads. Basically just a firepit with some stones to sit on, and flint and obsidian shards piling up. Going to use it as a UB since I've split up the Native Americans, and I don't think the Totem Pole really fits the Sioux. Using the Longhouse for the Iroquois, but can't find a good UB to use for the Sioux, and I think "Story Circle" would work well, I know NikNaks uses the Chiefs hut to grant +2XP to archery units, but I think a firecircle would work better.

Having no art abilities any help is much apreciated. Also this art will be used in the Legends of Revolution mod.

Doesn't fit the best, but better than nothing.

Yeah, I saw that, but it looks more like a setting for a hippie festival, then a place to sit around and flake arrowheads...

The_J you have any idea what you want your icon to look like? I don't have the skills myself, but for anyone that does having a rough idea will probably help.

i don't know, if it can be done, but a simple re-colouring of the civ planet cursor would be good.

I "prefer" Chuggi's simply because I like to keep my vanilla game as vanilla as possible and its easier to add Chuggi's to specific mods. But they are both really good and almost interchangeable. Chuggi's also improves on resources and leaderheads too.

How do you add "chuggi" to a specific mod(like varietas delectat for example) and not to the entire game?

You take Chuggi's mod (I am not exactly sure on the file structure) and just plug it into the VD mod at the proper location. So if Chuggi's mod starts out with the "Assets" folder you simply add his mod to the Assets folder. Off-hand I don't recall exactly which folder it starts at but its as simple as doing that, so alter it based on whatever folders it involves. Its very easy.

I am only requesting a link for a display mod that I have seen before. It is probably even quite popular, only I can't find a screenshot for it anymore.
It changes how information is displayed, particularly, on the city screen. It will count up the number of great people of each type and show the number without you hover your mouse over it. Sound familiar?
