I can’t remember from 6, but here goes.

20 odd leaders? 20 weeks to go. So one a week?

Antiquity focus then exploration then modern. Timed with the big reveals on exploration/modern game play allowing for a one month final marketing blitz so exploration in October, modern November/December?

I know it is inane, just helps the 140 odd days pass, slightly, quicker.

I think we can count on more or less one a week, along with a Civ guide posted on the site once a week as well. Another round of streams and previews in 7ish weeks, and another in 14ish.

Edit: and Community Manager Sarah confirmed a “very healthy cadence” for civ guides when asked about it by a Reddit user

During the heyday of Civ 6 marketing, they did a weekly livestream for each civ. But they probably don't need to do that. It would quickly become redundant to see Antiquity be played over and over with slightly different strategies each week. I'd be fine if they didn't do another livestream until they're ready to demonstrate Antiquity crises.

On the main topic, yes, I'm expecting 1 leader FL and 1 civ added to the game guide per week.

If this pace continues until release, how many leaders and civs would that mean?

Never :p,
I may be speaking for myself on this front, but I would love if it was like civ 6's streams of each civ, IIRC it was like "Civ Reveal" on Tuesday or Wednesday and Stream on Thursday or Friday, I loved that, although the one day or more of waiting to see the stream was killer as I waited in immense anticipation! Also, a return of the visual hints in the background of streams as to who might be next revealed really racked the brain and inspired more baseless fun speculation, which is why I keep returning to this site. The Civ Leader system does complicate things tho, cause I imagine they are going to run out of antiquity-era leaders before running out of antiquity-era civs...

Try one more time! At one point it will sirely work!

If you predict five times that the traffic light will go green in two seconds before it happens, does it still count?

Yes, obviously!

It's safer to predict that it will NOT turn Puce, Chartreuse or Vermillion - you'll be right every time . . .

I seem to remember during 6 that there was a Tuesdays & Thursdays schedule of First Looks and other preview material. With all the Leaders and Civs to unveil, I can picture this happening even starting this far out.

So I guess weekly it is.
The article stated "almost every week" - sounds like they're just assuming. Having said that, I think we also pretty much assumed weekly reveals based on the amount of undefined content still out there. With Civ6, though, there were weeks where there were multiple days of content reveals.
During the heyday of Civ 6 marketing, they did a weekly livestream for each civ.
During the lead-up to the release they only did three "Civ-specific" livestreams. The other ones were mechanic based like religion and combat. There was also a five-part Battle Royale & multiplayer streams. The following six DLCs did have accompanying livestreams with the exception of the first two - Poland & the Vikings.

It will be interesting to see if the First Looks will be primarily a Thursday thing like the first one or if they will move to Tuesday like a lot of the Civ 6 First Looks.

Both. Two per week at least!
