While we wait for some more news I thought it would be interesting to guess the Geographical Features for the Civilizations already in the game.

Limit your pick to the Top Four for each category.

For Australia my picks would be:

Rivers:

Murray River
Darling River
Murrumbidgee River
Diamantina River

Mountain Range:

Great Dividing Range
Snowy Mountains
Warrumbungles
Glass House Mountains

Volcanoes:

Mt. Warning
Mount Napier
Ball's Pyramid
Mount Tibrogargan

Deserts:

Great Sandy Desert
Simpson Desert
Gibson Desert
Little Sandy Desert

National Park:

Purnululu National Park
Namadgi National Park
Kakadu National Park
Lamington National Park

Norway

Rivers:

Glomma
Nidelva
Tana
Numedalslågen

Mountain Range:
Jotunheimen
Dovrefjell
Hallingskarvet
Hurrungane

Volcanoes: (considering that Norway today only has one volcano, Beerenberg on Jan Mayen, which has a Dutch name, I think they will substitute these names with Icelandic volcanoes, as Norway in Civ6 seems to cover Iceland, with Reykjavík being on the Norwegian city list.)
Hekla
Katla
Bárðarbunga
Grímsvötn

Deserts: None. While the term "desert" refers generally to any area with very low precipitation, in the game it refers to typical sandy deserts, of which Norway has none. Maybe they could improvise and come up with a fake name like "Sandsletta" or something.

National Parks:
Hardangervidda National Park
Rondane National Park
Dovre National Park
Jostedalsbreen National Park

Germany

Rivers:
Rhine River
Elbe River
Weser River
Donau River

Mountains:
Alps
Harz Mountains
Black Forest Mountains
Eifel Mountains (I included those because they have (mostly inactive) volcanoes, not because they are particular high or so)

Volcanoes: (I was going to favour those with known eruption dates (none less than 8000 years ago :p), but their names are mostly lame, so...)
Hohe Acht
Feuerberg
Hohenhewen
Wasserkuppe

Deserts:
I dont think there are any...

National Parks:
Wadden Sea National Park
Saxon Switzerland National Park
Bavarian Forest National Park
Lower Oder Valley National Park

I wonder if several civs can share one river/mountain name. For example, Donau River could both be had by Germany and Hungary.

France

Rivers
:

La Seine
Le Rhône
La Loire
La Garonne
Le Rhin (shared with Germany ?)
La Dordogne

Mountain Range:

Massif Central
Les Vosges
Les Pyrénées (shared with Spain ?)
Le Jura
Les Alpes

Volcanoes:

Puy de Dôme
Montagne Pelée (on Martinique Island in the Caribbean)
Bora Bora (in French Polynesia)
Piton de la Fournaise (on Réunion Island)

Deserts:

Not easy... We don’t have sandy deserts haha

National Park:

Parc des Cévennes
Parc du Mercantour
Parc des Écrins
Parc de la Vanoise
Parc amazonien de Guyane (the protected Amazonian jungle in French Guiana)

Deserts:

Mojave Desert
The Badlands
Sonoran Desert
Wyoming Desert

Great Basin desert. Deserts are kind of my thing. :) In terms of size, I would say it's more significant than Wyoming Desert.

Did they say Deserts would be named in the game? I did not hear that, and don't think I saw a named one on the video.

I would also add Colorado river to that list. It's a significant river for an entire region of the country. Though not something you would expect to be found next to the capital.

I thought about that one, but I like to pick on Wyoming :) I’ve sometimes referred to it as the land where God chose to decorate one corner and leave the rest as blank as a fresh map in SimCity 2000.

Yes, they did say deserts would be named.

You could also see the option to enable/disable desert names on the map features.

Netherlands:

Rivers:
Rijn (aka Rhine)
Maas
Schelde
IJssel

Mountains ranges (if we have Dutch versions):
Limburgse Heuvels
Utrechtse Heuvelrug
Drentse Heuvelrug
Sallandse Heuvelrug
(it should be noted that "heuvel" literally means hill)

Volcanoes:
Yeah not even gonna try.

Deserts:
Same

National Parks:
Veluwe
Weerribben-Wieden (should realistically require marsh imo)
Groene Hart (not an official National Park, so perhaps Drents-Fries Wold instead)
Biesbosch (should require marsh imo as well)

Sumeria can be interesting.

Rivers:

Tigris
Euphrates
Zab
Khabur

Mountain Range:

Zagros
Hamrin
Taurus
?

Volcanoes:

Are there any?

Deserts:

Arab Desert
Syrian Desert

National Park:

Hammar marshes

Many of the names have no origin in Sumerian culture or era, but this is the best we can do.
It may be interesting to see if two Civs could use the same Geographical Feature. Would the Zagros be limited to Persia? Would the Taurus be limited to the (?) Ottomans?
Same for Arab desert, if they don't necessarily stick to the idea of Arab Egypt, or if they add a peninsular leader for the Arabs.
If they do stick to the idea of Arab Egypt, there would be a great overlap over the Nile and other features of the Egyptian country with the actual Egyptian Civs, and in some cases with the Nubians.
It means they either have to share some features between several Civs, or they'll have to give actual Arabian features to the Saladin-oriented Egyptian Arab Civ. And take the Nile away from Nubia...

Although official confirmation is yet to arrive, I would like to pick up Hungary as I would be interested on your take on the whole issue of Hungarian territory being significantly reduced after WWI. If we are looking for historic accuracy, then we would have lots of locations currently belonging to other modern-day countries (although not really to other civs) while if we are considering the current country, then the location set would be severely limited.

I tried to take a look at that based on both approaches

Rivers
Duna
Tisza
Dráva
Maros

Mountains
Kárpátok
Tátra
Mátra
Alpokalja
Bükk (alternate)

National Parks
Aggtelek NP
Balaton-felvidék NP
Hortobágy NP
Fertő-tó NP

England

Rivers (This one's easy; we have so many!)
Thames we know about
Severn
Trent
Tyne (considered the Humber but it's not really a river)

that's about it unless you want to start getting into hills

Volcanoes (relying on British territories overseas here)
Queen Mary's Peak
Mount Belinda
Mount Michael

Deserts
nope

National Parks
Lake District
Dartmoor
Yorkshire Dales
The New Forest

The highest point in England is Scafell Pike at 978 metres so strictly speaking no mountains. We do have some extinct volcanoes eg Borrowdale hills, Cumbria but when they were last active there were no humans never mind English people.

Heh, if we're doing that for the Netherlands...

Toba
Tambora
Krakatau
Merapi

Yeah I guess that's four already (and neatly in order of most well-known eruption). Doubt Gitarja would like us taking them though.

I would exchange Weser with Main and call the Alps "Bavarian Alps". There is quite a lot of different alps around the world anyway...
As to the National Parks - there needs to be some in-game ruler to naming relying on the terrain. It doesn't make sense to have the Walden Sea in the Mountains, nor would I like to have the Black or Bavarian Forest for national parks that don't feature forests at all.

Weser was personal bias. :p My family comes from the Weser valley.

China

Pearl River
Yellow River/Huang He
Liao River
Yangtze
Mountain Range (I left out the Himalayas because it wasn't part of China until relatively recent times):
