Guess the Map IX: The Richese are no match

See. What's remarkable about NW Scotland that doesn't apply to the rest of the mainland?

The only thing I can think of is rainfall.

I'd guess its to do with a distribution of a species, but I cannot figure out which one. I also thought about bird migration areas...

Ethnic membership in the Varangian Guard? :)

Why is the Nile valley included?

Papyrus. Don't ask me why, but if it's a question about the river Nile, the answer is invariably papyrus.

(Cue joke about denial.)

Please tell me you're one of the few worthy who actually appreciate that font.

I do like it.

Where'd the map go?

Ah, there's the little fella:

Is it a migratory bird or not?

Is it the range of the White-winged Flufftail Sarothrura Ayresi?

It can migrate within the zone, but is all year across the orange zone; the pink bit indicates an area where it only occurs in the summer.

Gelion was correct about the type of animal.

Awesome! :D Although my knowledge fails me to be able to guess further. As a wild guess, I's say its some kind of Parus.
