Amount of Chess Grandmasters?

I've already said that it has nothing to do with chess.

EDIT:

New page, so I've to repost the map, here you got it:

Least amount of forestation?

Least amount of forestation?

Nope.

That was me trying to subtly ask for more tips. Three days passed and nobody even tried to answer. But whatevs.

I know but I wanted people to try it before giving any hint but since nobody dares here's the first hint. And the hint is...

Religion

Amount of Neo-Pagans?

We've got a winner!

How did you fin out, WIM? And to be more precise, it's percent of neopagans. Here you got the original map:

Looks like the guy who made this doesn't know how to use the signs < and > properly but we do already understand what he meant, don't we?

You're up, WIM.

I'm surprised there are that many pagans in Greece. I figured the country was very deeply Christian and the number of neopagans very small.

When I saw your clue about religion, I looked at Lithuania, which was known to be Pagan before the Northern Crusades. :p

There are that many neopagans in America? Haven't met many.

I believe it is the proportion of the worldwide total of neopagans present in each country. Lithuania is reported as about 80% Catholic and numbers I have seen say about 1 million worldwide (<1% of the US population). So the colours cannot be converted to an actual number easily.

Not to mention, I would hesitate to take much stock any any statistics about these groups. Most are highly informal and with many different groups, some of which value secrecy, they are extremely hard to count with any reasonable accuracy.

With the US, the number could also include some native religions that help ncrease it.
