GuideNES: The First Step for Lurkers and Newbies!

Sorry for my non-comittment of order: pass deadline, no want dead, no want spam box of joe. ;) I'll just quit this for now. (for ever?)

Flyingchicken, what have you done? In your greed for an update you have doomed us all (I mean, what will happen if the new players pick it up?)!

Abaddon and JosefStalinator have brought this upon themselves (see the rest of thread). I'm only following through with what heresies they teach. :p

MOAR!

;)

Seriously Joesf.. If you cannot grab this, I will write the update on monday/tueday if you forward me the orders.. :(

No, no seppuku, we want an update, your honor be damned!

:p

..... From the horrors of the old, to the atrocities of the new- the unholy torch has thus been passed. Weep, you fools, weep for the horror of NAO has descended upon you all.....

since nobody else has, Germanicus I claim as advisor.

I cry and am embarassed :(

since nobody else has, Germanicus I claim as advisor.

And I shall accept, what nation do you play as and where is it?

Granted I could find out by looking at the first page, but I figured this would be a better way to find the truth behind these decieving lies that the Mod sometimes post by not updating the list....

I play as Russia (listed as Kiev), located at Moscow.

Lurkerism: "Russia" is an anachronistic concept. The Rus are, as far as I can tell, barely numerous and the various small groups of people (including the non-state nomads) around that area have yet to develop enough to create such a thing. Have yourself conquered by someone more advanced than you, breed your ethnicity under their rule, and rebel--that way, you get the political and possibly physical infrastructure to establish "Russia."

"Kiev" in Moscow is really no better, though I can come up with a plausible etymology.

On a sidenote, did anyone else here know that in the late Middle Ages, the area of modern Muscovy was called Ukraina Zalesskaya, which may be translated as "the Transylvanian Ukraine" (okay, actually "the Transylvanian Frontier", which is pretty awesome too because of the mental image it creates)? Funny coincidence, IMHO.
