I just got a haircut. Now I feel fresh and clean. I had been thinking about getting one for a little while now, but it's such a chore to go out of my way to have it cut. I'm happy now that I did.

Perhaps it's because I get my hair cut really short, so I can feel the breeze on my head when I go outside now. It's just about the free-est feeling I've been able to find living in a big city.

What are y'all's thoughts on haircuts? Is it just something that you have to do? Do you enjoy it? Do you feel clean and happy after getting one?

I hate having long hair. I like having short cut hair and a clean-shaven face.

There is nothing I enjoy more than walking outside on a cold wintry night and feeling a cold breeze blow across my recently-shaven face.

Usually I just wait 'till I'm fairly shaggy & then just get a really short haircut or buzz.

Man I had a haircut today, too! That must be like, a billion-to-one chance or something. :eekdance:

I prefer having long hair, though (that is, hair as long as a short-haired person's hair gets; not Ecofarm-level hair-hippiness) because it obscures my forehead and ears.

I tend to ignore my hair length until it begins to annoy me. The I get it cut fairly short.

If when I move my hand to the back of my neck I lift up a lock of hair with with length that is half my handspan - haircut time.

I usually get an almost-buzz (about a half-inch), no sideburns, then let it grow back. It looks best around 1-2 inches in length, but cutting it to that length would decrease the time between haircuts, and increase maintenance.

Why? Do you have embarrassing tats there?

I keep my hair fairly long, because my hair is awesome.

I hate getting my haircut. Generally I just let it grow long until it becomes too much of a nuisance, and then I finally have to get it done. (Generally, when driving with the windows down becomes hazardous)

I hate to say this, because I know it sounds racist - but every time I go to get my haircut, it gets cut by some Asian lady who doesn't speak English very well, and thinks she's my mom. (And thus, knows how my hair should be better than I do - seriously, the last one flat out refused to finish cutting my hair how I wanted it. Point blank refused.) I'm seriously considering having my mom or girlfriend cut it the next time it needs it; if I'm gonna get babied by a woman and have her style my hair according to her personal taste, I'm not gonna pay $12 bucks for it.

I get a hair cut about every 3 weeks or so. I've never been able to really explain to a barber how to cut my hair other than "trim" even though I've definitely had cuts I'd like done again that for some reason looked better than others. Usually I just go back to that barber and tell him to do whatever it is he/she did last time and hope they remembered.

Incidentally I've never paid more than $20 for a haircut...

Thats not what I consider long hair :D

Yes, well, of course it isn't long in the grand scheme of things, but it's not freshly trimmed, either.

Basically, if a hair is long enough that if you found it in your soup at a restaurant you'd consider it deliberate sabotage by the cook or waiter, then I classify that hair as 'long'.

Yeah, I have a target tattooed on my forehead and people keep aiming for it, daft fools. But the tattoo artist told me it meant 'luck' in Sanskrit. (My ears have little flags on that show wind strength and direction.)

I'm European... I even use gel/mousse, the occasional hairdryer and stuff. I know you yanks came late to that party by about 15 years but you can't just hop on any trend that comes along, can you?

800th POSTS!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate getting my hair cut, my neck feels like crap for the rest of teh day.

I get mine cut every week, as per the rules of my job. I would wear a haircut pretty similar, though, just a little longer on the sides, in civilian life.

I get a medium reg, and trim the top every 2-3 weeks. I like getting a razor fade, alot of times I just like to get in and out, so stick with 0 guard on the sides.

Haircuts prevent the annoyance of long hair. I like my hair relatively short.
