We do not wish to diplomatically tie ourselves to Europe more than is necessary. Apparently such a purchase is impossible.

The Treaty of Toulouse

France recognises it's former colonial lands handed over to the powers who currently control them.

Austria, Portugal, the United Provinces, Hannover, and Britain is to pay France 1 ep in reperations, to be spent on non-military projects.

Austria, Portugal, United Provinces, Hannover, and Britain agree to peace with France for 4 years. Not one of these countries will have soldiers within the lands of France, and France will not have any soldiers within the lands of the before said countries.

Britain withdraws her troops from Corsica, and recognises France's legitimate claim to that land.

United Provinces, Hannover, Portugal, and Britain withdraw their troops from homeland France.

Otherwise I must avenge my father. He trusted you to use Spain for the benefit of France. Instead you use it to kill Frenchmen, your countrymen. You use their armies against the son of your brother. You will pay unless you sign this treaty. I will have no international opposition that I cannot handle in this. You must sign. I'm sure in the light of new diplomatic relations between France and other countries, your countrymen would be alright with this peace. I can now bring the full brunt of France down on you.
