Well, our goal is the self-rule of North and South America. Inter-Americas fighting would go against that goal.

And yes, I guess the POD can be used to explain differences in action.

Plus, Mexico has just adapted a very progressive constitution. We don't want to destroy that.

The French Emperor, Napoleon II, will arrange for the marriage to happen in 1 year from this date in Paris, to make sure that France is restored to it's former glory after the destructive war that just took place.

Napoleon II stood in Toulouse, amungst the emisarries of Britain and Portugal. He looked over the paper that he had put down the terms of a peace he thought would be good for the whole of western Europe.

Both foreign emisarries also thought highly of this peace agreement, and the 3 parties signed. The other foreign powers were not as important, and therefore did not have a say in the peace talks.

After the treaty was signed, Emperor Napoleon II went to Paris, where he was heralded a war hero, and enterred like a conquering warlord.

He spoke to his subjects, "We have fought another great war against many of the powers of Europe. We have came out, once again, with our dignity. We still have our national pride. And now, we have peace! We have earned this peace we have gained with blood, sweat, and tears. France may be called upon again to defend herself, and a fourth time we will hold fast against all outside forces." he paused to look at the crowd as they cheered him on.

He seen that they were genuinely happy with this. He thought to himself, "This is what my father was used to, all the time I'm sure". He continued his speech, "At the begining of the french revolution, we kept all enemies at bay. Again, as my father went to war with Europe we kept all enemies at bay, and this third time... With me as your Emperor. We have been tested again by europe, and again we have proven France cannot be beaten! It will take much more than a few countries to defeat France. The stars in the sky could all fall on France and still she would live on!"

The crowd again genuinely ecstatic at this point cheered on their emperor. They didn't know when the war started that the boy emperor would be an able ruler. Now they knew, and they were happy that their country would have a second erra of strength, under the son of their Napoleon.

Ennio Russo watched as the new Tri-colour was raised atop the Government buildings in Roma. It flew in the Autumn wind difiantly waving east... towards Austria. Crowd's cheered, waving miniature tri-colours that the soldiers had handed out. He squinted his eyes agains the blazing sun as he weaved through the bustling crowd. They had assembled around a huge, freshly built stage in a piaza. A tall podium had been erected, Flags of all the Italian territorys hung under it, dominated by the Tri-colour. Ennio could make out dialects from all over Italia in the crowd. From large cities to small villages, it seemed many people had come to witness the birth of their new nation. Soldiers lined the wooden stage, rifles in hand, grinning as beautiful young Italian women gave them flowers and kisses. Ennio felt a stab of envy. The King was set to address the people in a few minutes. He reached into his pocket, digging deep and pulled out a few coins. Not much, but enough to get him through the weak. He wondered what he would do once that was used up. Ennio was shaken from his thoughts. A large man had bumped into him, Ennio's coins nearly flew into the air but he closed his palm before they jumped. The man apologised and Ennio realised what had sent him off balance. Atop his shoulders was a small boy, he waved a miniature flag and cheered loudly. Ennio gave him a wink and the boy returned his gesture with such a big smile, Ennio feared his face would split.

The crowd seemed to feed itself into a frenzy, effigies of Emperor Franz were burned and hung. Someone through an Austrian flag into the air and atleast 15 pairs of hands reached up to grab it, tearing it apart. The group cheered louder still at the destruction of their enemy's precious flag. Suddenly the roar of the crowd climaxed into a deafening noise. A figure took to the podium. He was old, over 70. His bent form commanded respect, his hair was so silver it was close to white. His uniform was elaborate and elegent. Yet his voice seemed larger than one would assume. It was difficult to hear over the crowd and the people soon quieted, but the speech had already started. "...We enter a new age." was what Ennio heard. "An age of Italian unity, of Italian power and Italian strength. Our brothers and sisters will no longer be separated by lines drawn in the sand by greedy neighbors. In the past, your own family members were devided by our enemies, now you are united as it should be. One Italy, One people!" The crowd cheered, flags waved so violently that Ennio thought the cloth would rip from the tiny wooden sticks. The crowd hushed as the King signaled with his hands. "There are those who would seek to bar you from your loved ones. To devide you from your brothers and sisters and cousins and children with walls and fences! They are to the east, they seek to destroy us." The crowd's voice roared in fury at these words. 'DEATH TO FRANZ!" some yelled. "But we are defiant! We will not let them! We stand strong against them and look them right in the eye." He paused, letting his words sink in. "And do you know what we tell them? Those dogs in Vienna? We say... this is our resurgence, the resurgence of the Italian people. Risorgimento! Risorgimento! Risorgimento!" he rolled his 'r's and shouted in a deep voice that echoed in the heads of every Italian. The King's audience went insane. They jumped and whooped. A nod from an officer sent a row of soldiers lining up and firing shots into the air. One for every territory in the Italian Kingdom including Tuscany, who hadened yet joined. The king slowly spoke a "thank you" and stepped down from the podium. Ennio thrust his fist into the air and yelled a great " Risorgimento". He looked once more at his meagre collection of coins. "what the hell." he said as he made his way to enlist.
