i think falling asleep at the computer is a tell-tell sign of somebody deep into a computer addiction.

Usually only on half-purpose when lying on the couch.

Was on a big 5 day lan party with something like 5000 participants years ago. Me and my friends decided to stay awake as long as possible, after 4 days of chugging concentrated Red Bull I fell asleep with my hands literally on the mouse and WASD keys. Can be bloody dangerous as you constrict the bloodflow to your feet when sleeping in a sitting position, forming clots that can rush to your brain killing you as soon as you start moving. Saw some people with ridiculously swollen feet. Almost surprising not more die at those sort of arrangements.

Well, I am all about experiencing new cultures and all that.

Was a lot of fun though. Large amounts of caffeine combined with extreme sleep deprivation has some interesting effects on the body and mind to say the least. Not to mention the visual and auditory hallucinations.

Not that I would risk trying it again.

I feel like falling asleep at your computer is a telltale sign that you probably need more sleep. Although it's a bit more understandable if it is a laptop and you're already in bed. I've never had it happen myself, even when up for more than 24 hours. Though I've never stayed up for 4 days in a row, either.

I hope PlutonianEmpire isn't a real pilot, and that if he is, he has a copilot who's less prone to falling asleep while flying planes! I second the "did it crash?" question.

As for the other poll about sleep that's since been closed, I have in fact fallen asleep before. Though you could probably deduce that from the "not staying up for 4 days" part.

Just curious... did you crash the plane? :p
Don't remember, since it was around the same time Katrina rolled over and PMS'ed on New Orleans.

I would have never been able to become one anyway because I'm hearing impaired, and deaf and hearing impaired people are prohibited from flying planes IRL.

I'm not buying it. I'm not saying I'm not addicted, I may very well be.

I used to fall asleep at my desk at school, does that mean I was addicted to school?

sitting comfortably + tired = sleep.

Once, when I was a young teenager just getting used to the internet. I used to stay up all night on CheetahChat, and I remember waking up with my face on the keyboard once.

haha, speaking of first using the internet. I do remember falling asleep waiting for my 9600 baud modem to load up stuff back in 1995.
