Heirs to Heaven

House Braxton announces its allegiance, support and loyalty towards the Grand Alliance and the holy Regent, Lucien de Toullies. This is a sign from almighty God himself, and my faith will blind me no more from playing my part accordingly.

Signed, Lord-Commander Balon Braxton of House Braxton

Will your duel with Leodric Faulhamer still take place with the same terms?

Yes, Faulhamer must pledge loyalty to the Regent and the Grand Alliance instead, when I break their heir.

Alternatively, Faulhamer may simply yield and pledge themselves willingly. But where's the joy in that?

House Thustra wants no part in this strife. We shall only recognize the successor, nay, claimant, for God can have no successor, that sits in the Holy City.

House Isthon is not so quick to judge, but agrees with House Atkyn that there is something seriously wrong with self-declarations of stewardhood. There is not yet presented a worthy steward of the throne of God during God's absence, and serious theologians doubt any such successor would be an already-ordained Head of House.

If they cannot pick someone in an expedient manner, then perhaps there is no other suitable candidate.

A regent is someone who keeps the house in order until the master returns. Whoever claimed Lord Lucien was trying to replace God does not have a sufficient grasp of our language, but hopefully this has been rectified.

"If they cannot pick someone in an expedient manner"

Who is they? who are they supposed to pick? And why must one like that be picked?

If the Holy Church cannot (and so far, has not) pick(ed) a different regent in an expedient manner, then there is apparently no better candidate to prevent chaos from consuming the realm.

I was genuinely worried for the sake of the realm. I had feared it would tear itself apart in grief and strife. Now, there is a presence to stabilize us and prevent us from falling into darkness without the very literal guiding light of God, until He returns.

Who gave the Church the right to pick a regent? God never gave them such a right. Do you believe the Church should be deciding who is regent? GOD never gave the church such powers, and it was with good reason, the church should not dwell on politics, but on religion.

I am genuinely worried for the kingdom as well, and have been working hard to maintain its stability, and in particular its peace. I hosted the faith conference (which I intend to host again on the same season next year) and I am hosting a six? seven? way wedding ceremony to invite all of the houses, from all corners of the kingdom, and from all sides of whatever "chaos" currently exist to celebrate together in a show of unity. Yet I claimed no right as regent just because I took this actions...

In any case. I am not against this move. I am not for it either. I will maintain my neutrality on the matter as a whole, and my friendship with house de Tullies in private, and will continue to strive for peace in the kingdom.

I never said the Church had the right. In fact, I believe the opposite. I was challenging House Ithon's assertions on the matter.

I see. I don't believe they said the church should decide on a regent either. In any case. As long as peace stands all is well.

No one should. GOD left no instructions in the case that he leaves. A regent will most likely rise by himself, or perhaps GOD will return in no time. We just need to maintain stability and peace.

I couldn't resist.

A new drinking game.

Have a shot every time somebody mentions that they are striving for peace within the Kingdom of Heaven.

See how quickly you become a sobbing depressed wreck on the floor, muttering softly about your crush.

You were supposed to say die, like the alien.

Also, I'm pretty sure I'm the only one doing that :p

Peace.

No doubt House Iskariota looks forward to Braxton's pledges of support after the Anvil Prince scrapes pieces of Balon off of his warhammer.

OOC: Woah guys we don't need alliances. Only tourneys.

Quick clarification before orders start coming in:

I will not accept contingency orders in this game. They don't work with army positioning/movement rules, and cascading contingencies suck. Please don't do them.

Also reminder that orders are due in roughly 40 hours.

God has no current successor; eventually the Chosen One will come but it is not now.

No unorthodox proclaimed of popularity or alliances can change theological truth.

You know who could maintain stability and peace? A regent.
