Help improve the expansion pack!

Thal: Where are your mods in the Steam Workshop? I can look you up but there seems to be no direct link to your collection.

EDIT: Nevermind, I finally located them, though "Communitas" does not yet show up except as some player. The Workshop's search function is not as useful as the old Mod center's search function was - at least there, you could do searches by mod authors and get a list of all their mods.

@sukritact
Thanks, I'll get that in the data files for the policies stage of gem.

@gunnergoz
You can enter an author name in the "search players and groups" box, then click the "workshop" link on their profile page.

Would this work for metal casting?

I've made a very simple mod that improves Lancer and the UUs that replace it . It'll still need some work,but I think this is more than enough for testing .

Just had a little idea. Might not effect balance or fix anything but I think it will add little historical flavour to the Aztecs. Since Aztecs used to demand captives from other tribes to sacrifice, what about adding it to their UA that bullying CS also yields some culture. :) What do u think ?

Good idea, sounds flavourful and realistic. Kinda depends on how easy to do that is though. A similar mechanism would be to be able to demand culture or science as peace offerings, allowing different strategies of bullying for conquest oriented empires. And I don't think it'd be overpowered with the 20 turn cool-down on peace treaties...

If it's possible to do that to Aztecs,perhaps it could be possible to make Germany demand a military unit,instead of gold,when bullying a city-state . I've never liked their current UA,that makes them overly dependent on barbarian spawning rate .

Thal. List of things in these

1) Terrain includes balance of natural wonders to listed values plus a minor bug fix "truffle(s)" and a couple other minor changes that you already did (coal tech, village +2 :c5gold:, at least as expressed in posts. Wasn't in file yet)

2) Text was a minor change to the forts tips to make them all the same.

3) Policies, I amended some to reflect current data, for instance the 10 HP instead of 2 HP heal in the nationalism tree or free "walls" in 4 cities instead of all. Pretty sure this would need a lot of overhaul still as there were a number of tasks I didn't attempt as yet.

4) Changed resource by building to reflect most of the proposed changes for markets, amphitheaters, and temples especially. I didn't take out bananas from granaries yet, but did take out wine. Monasteries are still as VEM had them. I'm not sure what, if anything, we're doing with them yet. I also added a proposed change for a free cathedral on Notre Dame and a free pagoda on Angkor Wat. Those seemed the most logical ones for that idea to come into line with the free mosque on Djenne. That can obviously change if we add or heavily edit other wonders.

5) I deleted a lot of extraneous or out of date changes from the files for my own convenience. Some of these were changes to GK defaults that now reflect VEM changes (library/water mill cost, windmill/workshop production). Also changed some data for referencing changes from vanilla GK.

Updated: Corrected Paper Maker Library function

That would be OP. Maybe demanding a military unit instead of worker.

And Thal did u like my Aztec idea ? Is it possible to implement it with current modding tools ? :)

Might be a bit strange question. Thal's mod(s) - with help of others not to be offended :) - had three rough stages:
1. getting it together
2. playable, implementing suggestions
3. very playable, removing bugs, hammering details

Are the additions for G&K in the 2nd phase yet? Didn't buy G&K yet and I don't want to until addons are stable enough to be as playable as towards the end before expansion.

Great work Thal and others. I'm just a user so I'm waiting (patiently) for a comparably good, stable version. :)

right now there's some serious bugs, but they should get fixed in the next few days.

after that will come the Armies section, then the Leaders/Civilizations section.

so if you're not in a hurry, I'd give it a couple more weeks till it reaches phase 3 :)

I noticed that the icon for Collective Rule is currently using the settler icon with and emboss applied to it. Being a bit of a perfectionist (I often replace art for mods I use) I've made an alternate version for personal use and just wanted to ask if you want to use it.

sukritact, somebody requested a new icon for Trade in GEM and I'd agree... it used to be trapping, but now it's got nothing to do with the fox on the icon :D

thank you in advance, great work :)

I personally haven't seen that fox icon in a while, I use the unused market icon (the one with the spices) for that. I'm also using the Gadrauhts icon instead of the Levy, the Phalanx instead of the Sentinel and an old Machine Gun icon I made for Pouakai as the Conscript. Like I said, I usually replace art for mods.
