Heretic_Cata's All in One Mod - Expansion

I found a missing file. (so much for decent beta testers :mischief:)
Heh, he was added 1 day before the launch. :D
But this is completley unexpected.

If you look at the .ini you can see there are no typos: "SwordmanFortify.wav"
But if you look in the firaxis swordsman file you will see the strangest thing:
There is no file named "SwordmanFortify.wav"
it is named "SwordmanFortify .wav"

And furthermore, it's the ONLY wav file named this way.

Check the patch post, i've uploaded the ini there.

@Storm: :p

And btw, even though i tryed to make the game go more slowly, i think i did the opposet. At least in my game, things are going preety fast, units are spawned everywhere and the computer keeps backstabing.

Actually I really like this mod. It has a good speed of expansion (RaR is too slow IMO), a large range of units (always fun), a decent speed tech race (moves through the ages reasonably quickly, but not too fast) and really makes you think about what your building and where (like Pythagoreans. I love exploiting that so that when i build it, i get the free technologies and can instantly abandon the city to remove unhappies). Its a very fun mod.

Now back to making the Byzantines BURN!!!!!!!!

BTW, I had 2 Philosopher's Stones on a Standard sized map. Is this meant to happen or not?

Thank you.

That was one of my intentions, to individualize cities as much as possible.

No, but unfortunately even though the apearance ratio is 1 the RNG has this sort of glitches, and only a few of the unique resources are really unique ... most of the time there are 2 of each.

(On my huge map there were 3 philosopher stones)

Btw, did you find the Holy Hand Grenade ? :D You can use it to make the enemies declare war on eachother.

I guess I would have gone insane if I had not downloaded it.
And the wait time went down to 6 minuites. I'm going to be busy playing this mod today.

Wonderful mod, Heretic Cata!  :trophy:
Here are a few screenshots of the tiny map I am playing on...
City.gifEmpire.gif
Also, I also noticed a little pallete issue when I was playing(My civ color is blue):

I hate palletes ... There are also quite a few pallete problems with some splashes. :(

Btw, what on earth is that black horse doing there. I never saw it in my mod.

Well, when I first got Civ3FlcEdit, I fooled around with the horseman pallete. I backed the files and turned it into a "Nightmare" rider. It was cool for a while, but I just got too lazy to import the original pallete.;)

For those of you who downloaded and played the mod, please click on the download link again and rate the mod. :D
(I changed the link with a new one (sort off) using the new Forum Database thingy.)

Yay! It's done. :)

Congrats!

Sadly, my computer is out of space, and I can't download it. :(

But, I'm not the kind of person to go and DL the dialup ones, so I just live without it. (Trying to free up space now...)

I've been having a quick go with "your Mod", catching name by the way :), I think it's really rather brilliant! Lots of exciting new widgets gives the game a great new flavour! :goodjob:

I did find another teeny, tiny error though: Missing file - Art\units\Almogavars\Almogavars.ini

Not difficult to fix but just for completeness.

(Sigh) My main computer with the mod and all the modding stuff is messed up. I noticed a few fixable pallete issues with the wonder splashes and sounds that are incompatible with the Crusader and Hospitaler Knight animations. I would fix them myself if I could, though.:(
Just to help with the burden of patches, Heretic Cata.;)

Sorry about that, it was a typo in the pediaicons, but i fixed it. Check the patches post.

But there is a slight possibility it might not work for the current game because i changed the text file. If it doesn't work, then you should rename the "Almogavar" folder to "Almogavars" .
That should work.

Incompatible sounds ? :hmm: You mean they don't fit or that they make a "jamming" sound when they attack & stuff ?

As for the splashes palletes: i have NO IDEA how to fix that. I converted the images with Paint Shop Pro and aparently it STILL went wrong.
How exactly could i do this the right way.

The sounds don't fit when the units attack, fortify, and maybe fidget. As for the pallete issues. Find the nearest color that would match it. For example, a very light part appears black. Since the splash is 3D in a way, find the nearest color that would fit it and get the color with the eydrop tool. Go to the black spot and fill it with that color.(I have done it before.;) )Once you get the hang of it, you could probably do a lot of them in one day.

@Asclepius: I had no idea what name to give it, so i just gave it an "A little bit of every of my ideas" name. :D

That sounds kinda complicated ... Especially when i have a list of about 20 wonders that are screwed up (and i just reached the industrial age). And i didn't bother to take screenshots kuz i didn't know i would need to.
And most don't have a big black spot, most have lots of unconnected dots.

But i will try to do smthing about it.

It would be great if i could change my desktop to 8bit colours so i could see the darn things better, but i see that's not possible. :(

Thanks Cata. I just added an s to the folder, apart from that, everything seems to work just fine for me. I really like the way the game is playing out so far, especially as the ancient and middle ages units have a much longer shelf life and the development of the civs takes a realistically long time. :)

Those were some of my main objectives. :goodjob:

Btw people, i have an important question:

Did you find the artillery(type units) producing wonders usefull ?

Do you think i should allow them to be built in ANY city ?

But i don't want to upset a certain ballance by doing this. Maybe you ppl observed this, but most of the new units i added are offensive units. The only powerfull defensive units that i added are the defensive towers, the cojurer and the Shaolin Monk. Too much artillery could make these units a little more useless.

I'm dl it now... Can't wait to try it out...I hope i dont mess anything up on my computer. Should i copy all my existing mods into this folder or should i make a new folder like i do with the normal scenarios?

You don't need to copy anything anywhere and you really don't need to make any new folders. Just replace your "Scenarios" folder with the one in the archive. I know it SOUNDS as though it will "Replace" it, but it actually won't replace any files, it will just add files.

If it worked without replacing any files for (aprox) 50 people then it will work for you too. :)
