It is possible. One can not be supportive of abortion for personal reasons, be they religious, ethical or otherwise, but be pro-choice on a societal base, for instance to avoid self-abortions out of desperation (because banning abortion doesn't prevent it to happen, far from it).
True, but Austrian German is just a dialect of Hochdeutsch. Many Austrians speak that variant mainly and practically all speak it when they have to. I would also say that Austro-Bavarian is more of a regional language, like there are many within dialect continuums and Germans (Austrians being ethnic Germans) are a people much clinging to regional culture.
Cultural languages like Hochdeutsch tend to be more than just an elevated dialect, because of its refined nature thanks to civilisation.
In German one would call the regional languages 'dialects' and the variants of Hochdeutsch 'accents'.
