Dang, sorry to hear about this guys. Those barbs are brutal. We've been lucky to have archers but if the axemen show up soon, we might be right there with ya. I noticed that Bombay was the holy city of Judaism and got razed by the unholy barbs. That would have sucked to have gotten further into the game and found that out.

My instincts told me that was going to happen. No critisicm intended but we shouldn't have gone argiculture but archery to fend off the barbs. I too should have beelined it for archery but was trying to open the path to Judaism. @LuvtoBuild If promoted correctly archers will hold off barb axes on fortified hills and cities. (some with melee/drill/combat will do the trick) After our experience with VQ08 I knew that we had to get moving on the archers otherwise we were screwed. Also Luvtobuild did you look at the worldbuilder to ascertain the Judaism holy city was razed? (rhetorical question I guess)

I am game for a restart since the Pacifist technically restarted but in my opinion have won this round. How about we penalize ourselves for this grievious oversight on part of this team and try again at Emperor. Anybody game.???? I am and won only once on Emperor in a SG but with a PA.

Just make sure we do fogbusting with the warriors and get to archery fast for fortifying around the city/ and in the city. Have archers with CD promotion in the city and fortified on hill drill/combat and once axes show melee.

In a sense the RNGod answered my prayers since I really didn't like this start after all. I played out B on my own and it was much better overall.

So team are we up to the challenge of Emperor/raging barbs to level the playing field for our loss.

Yeah, that's true. We did basically restart because of my screwup. We probably have a slightly better position this time around too because of the Ivory and an isolated start. I don't know if you really want to punish yourselves that bad. Those barbs are brutal as things are now anyway.

I saw the razing of the Jewish holy city in the second screenshot Xtream posted. It shows the log and says Judaism was founded in Bombay. Then a few turns later it says Bombay has been captured by the barbs and razed.

Had a DUH moment there never thought to look just saw the finish. Just had this feeling when I saw Xtream had posted that it was over and looked and left. Disappointment I suppose.

You kind of let the cat out of the bag there Codeman. That takes all the excitement off for me. I hate reloading it makes me feel like I am cheating. I thought doing the same thing Codeman and playing on my own. I suspected we might have prevailed and didn't look too closely at Xtream's turnset as to what exactly happened and how the turns were taken. It just could be odds the second time around I don't know. So I am not saying Xtream made bad moves just maybe the odds went against him that time around. If we had only 1 warrior in the Capitol at the time then yes an oversight. If we had multiple then bad luck.

Xtream why did you go to a settler when there are barbs everywhere???? Another warrior would have been prudent. In addition after archery --> priesthood????? You thinking Oracle but we need slavery for whipping and chops/possible copper which now we know now was in BFC. My guess would have been Bronze working. PS: We also stated that we needed archers to accompany settler. He can't move out on his own. I am sorry good fellow but that is the smoke of the year.
That one extra warrior would have got us through. When I am in that kind of position I build nothing but. Get the BW and whip up some archers fast. Plant them all around the city especially critical resources like copper/gold/food.

Don't apoligize I am just funny about that. If the others want to continue with the foreknowledge I will continue but it just feels weird. If I had been blindfolded to the details it would be more appealing.

I played it through and I realize that Xtream might have just followed the queue but I would have changed to warrior and went for BW to find ourselves with two sources of copper. With the extra warrior held out and another until archers which held out and after a while built the Oracle slingshot MC got the GP later on and founded Christianity. Was working on my fourth city by 35 ad. We have good resource base and "Excellent capitol". Got to monarchy for happiness and wine. Tried the Pyramids but too late.

Oh well I will play this on my own but disappointed settler wasn't put off for a warrior-->warrior-->Archer-->Archer and the finish settler. Settle second site near crab and Medina became holy city with the Oracle. Perfect.

Maybe you could think about running same game parameters and variants but with different map. It's kind of difficult comparing pacifist to jihadist otherwise.

I am a man of Passion and my heart isn't in this anymore. I did play the game on for sometime and did very well. Found alexander, MM, Ghandi (he's almost wiped out) and even built GL. We couldn't do that in the variants but I was going to change that. No freaking way I am doing without the GL if I can help it. LuvtoBuild ARGH.... That's my favourite wonder and even though we are Jihadist we can be smart. As a matter of fact the Arabs were way ahead of the western world in certain technologies during the Crusades. (medicine but more that I can't think of.) Geez LuvtoBuild Conquest and cut offs our hands to excel in science and be a bunch of religious backwards idiots. I do trade very actively after learning that is the only way to survive on the higher levels well. Heed this one LuvtoBuild. But still need my beloved GL. I maybe a passionate bloodthirsty warrior but I still enjoy the art of science more than anything. It is better to be a smart blood thirsty warrior than a backwards one.

We would have won this one gentlemen and my apoligies to my teammates for this failure. It is without Honour. Xtream you just followed the routine my friend but please next time go with with your instincts death warrior. When in battle, prepare only for battle, when in peace, prepare for battle, and your opponents will think twice. You don't know how the darkside kicks in I think that 1 warrior lost us an empire. When I played again and hooked up the copper I was so peeved that I was playing kill the barbs. In other words I was going after them. B^*%$ took my Honour and now must pay for their insolence. Adamlan my friend why "agriculture" Argh. That was a bit a of smoke too not that we don't all do it. Why, Why (Lord Vader screams the warriors call of pain) not Archery. Look now my teammates at our Empire. Do you see any buildings or places to create warriors. NOT.....

Gentlemen you can take it by my post, I HATE LOSING BIGTIME!!!!!!!!!Defeat is not an option......I am willing to admit I love winning and suck at losing. Now if this was a single SG fine I wouldn't be heated as much but we were in a competition meaning we need to use our "freaking" brains. Not follow the order (Oh I was just following orders, where haven't we heard that before). but independent thought and assessment of the situation.

I will play this again but we must endear a "punishment" for this and play on Emperor. If all are game and willing to play step by step. Emperor on raging barbs not for the weak at Heart. First start and no bolony with chosing starts. I didn't like that and should have pushed my opinion more but wanted LuvtoBuild to have the glory. I always believe in sharing the glory with my fellow warriors. It is how the bloodlust drives me.

I will heed to the call and take my punishment for this grievious failure.

Emperor on Raging Barbs and still beat the Pacifist and I authorize the following in our game to make it interesting. We may hijack their save play and post it in their thread to create confusion amongt the Pacifist dogs. No holds barred gentlemen my rage, and passion is speaking.
