Hockey moms are funny!

 The mother obviously has no common sense

This seems to be a point of contention that's cropped up a lot lately. I just think the best solution is the one that lets the most people get what they want while not harming anyone, or the fewest people possible if someone has to be harmed.

While I agree that enforcing the policy will be difficult, and that most girls won't want to play hockey with boys, and that even having to have a policy in the first place is a pain, none of those are good reasons for keeping the girl in the article from doing what she wants.

The obvious answer is as others have suggested, to simply not have coaching in the changing room but do it outside.

But she's not only complaining about missing out on the coaching, she's also complaining that being forced to change in a seperate room makes her feel like she's not a part of the team.

And being :groucho: by her teamates will make her feel like part of a team? :crazyeye:

I have known a number of teenage hockey players in my life, and from what they say, the behaviour towards the females in the changerooms can be deplorable.

I would think twice if I were this mother.

Big deal. That's not the part that's really wrong and should be corrected. She'll have to deal with having a barrier between her and men her whole life.

Well as a female...
You're not a dude?

YAY! I've been on a search for really smart, articulate women who exist day to day. Just to prove they are as commonplace as men. I'm more and more convinced that's the case (I was quite the sexist two years ago for some background). It's just not obvious in high school. :goodjob:
