HOF Mod Support/Suggestions

Which HOF mod components use the most memory? I ask, because my games seem to become more unstable with the HOF mod on.
I would think that the Domestic advisor would be the worst. The Foreign Advisor is probably up there too. Both have more tabs that the stock version. Civ4lerts and Autolog both add additional event handlers so there would be some overhead there.

The new "Field of View" may or may not hurt memory. I haven't looked but I think I remember Gyathaar saying that the map was already in memory so it didn't have an effect there.

Map size, number of civs, number of units, etc. these are all things that can effect memory usage as well. If you are low on video or regular RAM you might have to lower your graphic settings or play smaller maps.

I am sorry if you are having difficulties when playing with the HOF Mod.

Vanilla HOF mod is funny. I'm using 1.61.010, and I set up the G-Minor game (Monty/Oasis/etc). I check, and all victory conditions are enabled. I start the game, and I get the red text that says this game is ineligible.

Apparently, "Score" victory wasn't enabled. Uhm... there is no "Score" victory, and Time was enabled. I tried again, same thing. Restarted Civ4, same. Rebooted computer, same thing. :\

Maybe I should just update to .011.

G-Minor 18 requires v.1.61.011, not .010.

Is the "Lock Modified Assets" box checked? That's typically the one that is forgotten a lot.

The best way to know what is causing the HoF error is to check the F8 screen once the game has started. Click the "Settings" tab and in red text, it'll state what is causing the error.

I didn't realize that, about the Minor requiring .011. Thanks.

Yeah... The mod said "Score" victory wasn't enabled. LMA was on, as was No Barbarians.

And now Warlords says my Assets have been modified. >_<

Have you installed any mod into the installed Asset (under Program Files) folders? (Vanilla Assets are shared with Warlords.) Civscale is a common cause of this type of thing.

You may need to uninstall Vanilla and Warlords, delete anything left behind in Program Files and My Documents\My Games, and then reinstall and repatch both.

@Denniz - the latest update fixed the sorting of the hammer column in the domestic advisor. What was the code change that fixed that issue? I looked at the code and the only difference that I could find was that you deleted a space at the end of a description ... something like "Production " to "Production". Was that it?

No, there was a change to the UpdateScreen function. Look for 'HoF Mod V1.61.011/V2.08.004' comment.

How long should I wait between map generations before giving up and aborting it? It's generated one map and has been sitting there for about 20 minutes now not doing anything.

You've waited long enough. ;)

Check your time delay in the HOF3 tab and check the left side of your frozen screen. Does it state it stopped for some reason? Also, are all your path statements correct?

I had to manually input the paths to get it to work at all. There's no text on the side of the screen, it's as if I just created a single map normally. Time delay is set at 2.

EDIT: It just made a new map, it says:

Press Alt-X to stop MapFinder
Count=1 Saved=0

It's been about an hour since I started running it. Does it normally take this long to generate maps?

it takes my computer about 10 seconds from the time it generates one map, till it finishes generating the next....but it won't save games for me, so I have to watch it and manually save any starts I like.

I did that and now it still says the same thing.
Bah. I have no other mods in my /Civ4/ or /Civ4/Warlords/ directory other than the deafult ones and 2.08.004.
Ah well. Thanks. :P

I think we all ready talked about Lock Modifed Assets being checked, didn't we? You are not using CivScale or Axleman's Hotseat Fix, either right? Send us a savegame file to hof.civfanactics@gmail.com. Maybe we can figure out what's going on.

Can someone tell me what to do or direct me to a post that covers this problem when launching mapfinder? Thanks
