I recon that Partisans are visible for Germany at Civ assist 2.

What turn order of the game? Who move first?

Turn order is given in post 1, except nature is actually 1st to move, not Japan.
I haven't tried Civ assist 2, if it let's you see invisible units like subs and partisanswe should ban it.

They are not, but since i know their original starting positions and movement points i can always make assumptions to where they can be...

They are. At least at my CA2.

I treid downloading CA2 and running it, but it won't
display any units on the map at all, maybe I have to
change some setting?

You are right Ivan, i did not knew that, that really is a turndown of Civassist II...is there no way of avoiding that? changes in the .biq maybe? making the invisible units "king" or "flag"?

I'm fuzzy on CA2 but I would have to say from my viewpoint that it would take away from the "Fog of War" that this game is all about. My take...

Ok i will not use CAII, in fact i can use it, but i will not use that CAII map tool (it was something i was not even aware of before, now i wish i didn´t knew that even), i will only run the Alerts on CAII, i need them to micro rebelling cities and so on....

On other note: Could the construction brigade be allowed to move erverywhere? It would allow me to repair those damaged front roads...

It will also make submarines visible, that would mess up the war at sea.
I played Russia without CA2, no problem.

BTW: Did you read "The Stalin Papers"?

I am putting together the mailing list for the game tonight.

Bowsling you start the scenario, when it asks you for the name of the USA player
just put in Uncle Sam.

I assume everyone wants to do the Pre-turn???

The Pre turn should no longer be an option Eric as per our many previous discussions. So yes..the Pre turn is a must!

I'd also like to welcome all those new to HOF. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have. Eric and I go all the way back to his first creation...TOS, Typhoon of Steel. In that game...my first time at it..I learned a lot of lessons on the way to getting HAMMERED! But it was one of my best games and now HOF is. I would just ask those with these new fangled "assist" add ons to..resist the urge to use them. Certainly everyone should look at the Biq and get the big picture.That is acceptable to see the "World's Order of Battle". This game should be about using the in game features to beat your enemy. Anyhow..I look forward to getting the save and putting things into motion!

2) Sure, you have created them yourself, so you know, where they are.
3) I read "Stalins papers". I see diplo here is quiet weird: Japan declare to Russia, Tula was captured -- that was not historically true.
Also, Russia at that time had good chances to return Kharkov (Karkov on map), again no chances for that with that troops position.
OK, we play game, not a "history", but can be diplo really screwed, like early peace of Russia - Germany?
Or we play "without e-mail diplo"?
What about battle log? (I hate it).
I definitely will have more questions, but in first approximation "it is".

You need to read the scenario notes about the political sitiuation. If you do
you will see Russia and Germany are in a locked war with no possibilty of
peace.
