How did you decide your forum name?

@MaisseArsouye: before I got used to your name, I couldn't help but to read it MassiveBottom. I thought you picked it for that very purpose. :D

Anyway, Hakim is an Egyptian singer I listened to a lot at the time I needed a nick in another context, and shortly thereafter I registered on CFC and used the same.

The Siberian Husky is an old pure breed of dog, bred by the Chukchi people of the Chukchi peninsula.

I wanted to come up with something original, so I came up with Chukchi Husky (I put in an underscore out of habit).

When I first started going to forums I decided to name myself something weird. I picked "Happy", but it was taken. (on a different site) So I used the 4. I have tried to get my name changed (here) to "Happy," but that isn't happening.

I figured I'd use the same name for my forum name as my civ's name--the Plutonian Empire. In fact, after joining, I temporarily had second thoughts, and asked TF about a name change, but I got cold feet and kept PlutonianEmpire, thankfully.

My last name is Sims, and I was born on February (the 2nd month) 7th, 1989. I probably could have just chosen plain old Sims, but I assumed that Sims without numbers attached was taken.

Mine's from a song by Chris Rice.

Most people have called me Gainy since the end of primary school. It's a shortened version of my second name Gainford. Couldn't be arsed to think of anything else, so I just stuck 'bo' on the end of it (thought it sounded funny)

I don't come into off topic much, but sims, I always thought you had a good few years on me :) - not the other way about

because, the greek mercenary general Xenophon kicked mucho-grande ass, so I choose to take a name after him, but decided that 'Xenophon" was far to formal and stingy for my tastes- thus i shortend it up to Xen, and have been both a blessing and a pox to this forum ever since ;)

From when I started online gaming (Quake3) in 1999. Was WildFire444 but the 4's were castrated.

Oh yeah, forgot to add the 4-1-88 is my birthday.

About a year ago when everyone changed their screen names for lots of things every few days. You run out of ideas, so I just put in viper. Taken, so I typed some random numbers (275174 was what happened, but I liked 275 better.) The number means absolutely nothing.

From Daidouji Tomoyo, the most awesomest character in anything, ever. She also has amethyst eyes. Amethyst is sucha cool word...

When I signed up, I wasn't intending to stay, so I just picked the first thing that came to my mind.

And Tomo = Chinese "peng", Yo = Chinese "you?"

Peng... you... Friend?
Tomo means 'friend' in Japanese (as in 'tomodachi' etc). Not Chinese. :p

In the Chinese-translations I have, Tomoyo is used with different Chinese characters ('zhi si').

My name comes from when I started playing Starcraft online. I wanted a completely stupid name, so I chose Da_Person. When I registered here, I still hadn't chosen another name, and I wanted a more "mature" name, and the rest is what they say, history.

BTW, later I found that my nick may be misunderstood, like thinking it menas something like "da man", or something. That's not my intention. I wanted something incredibly stupid.

@ classical hero - I'm not suprised that this thread has been done before, but hey I'm still getting responses :)
Thanks for the link by the way.
Having a look at the response by those who also posted in that thread, they must have just copied from the thread I mentioned, I was too lazy to write out again, but it did take me a while to find the thread though. It was hard finding that thread out of the 521 threads that I have on my subscription list, I think I need to purge it of a few.

Mine is my usual nickname, the one I used in my college newspaper, in other forums, and stuff. It's because I really like the comics it's from, plus I'm rather sure that it won't be already taken. And it has a french touch, which is rather nice ;)

Nah. To copy'n'paste, you need to retrieve the previous thread, which, like you said, isn't quite that easy ^^
