How did you decide your forum name?

It's my wife's name. I originally joined the forum for her, so used her name, and then kept it. Even though it's a woman's name (Persian/Farsi for "flower"), I don't think too many people here would know that, so have never thought of changing.

I didn't know that...interesting. :)

My name comes from the former Miami and current New York Jets player, Santana Moss, and also from the current Minnesota Vikings player Randy Moss.

I liked Star Wars a lot back then. I just came from a SW forum so I naturaly assumed someone was already named Yoda, then I added Power, cause Power is cool.

Also that Akka (Finnish for old hag) is a French bloke.
Yes, some other Finnish guy told me that on Apolyton, a few years ago ^^

But it has nothing to do with Finnish :)
"Akka" is just the prononciation (in french) of my initials (A. K.). I invented it at first to play in video games. I wanted something that was both representing me (as I'm the one playing, obviously ^^), but which wasn't simply my name, as it had to also represent the character I was playing (who is not me, obviously ^^).
So I use "Akka" as a basis, and adds a title (like Sire/Lord/Commander/etc., depending of the game), or a suffix (the Mighty/the Twisted/the Cunning/etc., with, very often, my old favourite "le Vil").

And for Internet fora, well, I use the regular, bare, original version :)

It's all right here.

I first started using the name "Yuri" to play Tiberian Sun online, but when just plain Yuri was taken, I threw in the number 2356. (Was thinking along the lines of 2345, but I prefer to be more creative when attachinng numbers to things) I then moved on to use the name with Starcraft, Warcraft, and in turn here.

When at university one of my friends had ISS Pro Evolution 2 (football game) on the playstation. In it you can design your own custom team so we made one of our 6-a-side team. You also got to choose a name that the computer could say when an individual player got the ball (e.g. "and it's 'Beckham' on the ball...") but it had to be a player that was already used by the game. The closest one to Tim was Timko.

From Daidouji Tomoyo, the most awesomest character in anything, ever. She also has amethyst eyes. Amethyst is sucha cool word...

When I signed up, I wasn't intending to stay, so I just picked the first thing that came to my mind.

And Tomo = Chinese "peng", Yo = Chinese "you?"

Peng... you... Friend?

My name is taken from an old renaissance poem writter who lived a nomadic life in the 15.century,Jucas Dùmbeek. His life was one of many quests and mystery. They say he was eaten by the wolfs somewhere in the balkans while helping a peasant woman give birth to twins, siamese, twins ...

I originally got the idea for it to be simply 'Flint', but that was taken :ack:. So, I just chose the next best thing.

Your username has been bugging me for ages. It's spelt "Hamitic". :p

I originally invented my username for CounterStrike purposes. It was intended to express my annoyance at the obsessive need to be "different" among people my age, and it also fits my taste for the paradoxical. As an added bonus, it appears to be unique on the 'Net.

It's now my standard nickname for online purposes, but there's still places where I may be found under the names "Free(k)" and "Zadzhiff".

Mauer was my great-grandfathers name(Franz Leib Mauer), a polish jew. He came to America in 1892 at the age of 22.

edit: no I didn't mean to make that rhyme

Three years ago, my friend noticed that I write my b's like 6's. He's the type who indiscriminately makes fun of almost everything and everyone he knows well. So since my name is Toby, he started calling me "To6y" (pronounced like toe six why). My friends and I all thought this was kinda funny, so the name stuck, and it became my unofficial nickname. Even though I'm rarely called To6y anymore, I thought it would make a good screen name. I added the h and w so that it would be more obvious how to pronounce, and also less obvious what my real name was.

Really? I pronounce your name "To...<spazzes>...wy>". :)
