How did you decide your forum name?

And how did he decided to use it himself ? :D

My passport?
It simply states my family names. It goes from father to child
A habit we have here since French occupation :) .

From the film reservoir dogs, of course. The cool role Michael Madsen played. And I am actually blonde.

Pro-Evolution, adapted to Provolution, I am a hard-core ideologically motivated Functional Darwinist, and for me there is no such thing as political correctness or established political "truths". I may be more hard core against the Islamist cause than anybody, and denounce Republican economic policy the next day, I may have liberal, conservative, fascist, socialist and oligarchic aspects, so it is hard to figure me out. I am still cohesive and consistent in my thinking and value system.

I'm disappointed. He should have had a bit more of imagination :p

And here was me thinking you were a Pro Evolution Soccer fan... ;)

That's exactly what I thought every time I saw his nick in some post

I've used Elgalad as an internet persona for about 15 years. But originally, the name was a character I created years before for a roleplaying game when I was in high school. I've used it on and off since then in other internet games, such as Asheron's Call, Everquest, Dark Ages of Camelot, and now EQ2.

I combined Elrond and Galadriel (from the Lord of the Rings) to create the name itself, but since have been pleasantly surprised to find that it closely resembles some words from the Dark Elf dictionary ~ fanfiction type stuff from the R.A. Salvatore mythos. :D

It has other connotations as well; the English words "Elegant" and "Gallant" are wrapped up in there and these are personality aspects I admire. So yes, I sometimes see myself as more or less a White Knight/Don Quixote type who believes it is my duty to don the shining armor and tilt at those dastardly windmills littering the landscape.

Hey, in this morally relativistic world that is painted in so many shades of grey.. Someone still has to champion unpopular causes like Freedom, Justice, and Honor!

And Marla, I respect that you (along with all modern damsels) may Not wish to be rescued from a Dragon..

But I'll still fight it anyway. ;)

There's some interesting forum names around.
Especially the ones that have misled me are the most interesting.

I was suprised to find out that ManOfMiracles is a woman. :)
Also that Akka (Finnish for old hag) is a French bloke.

So, where did you get the inspiration for your nick?
Hello? Did I hear my name?
Mine wasn't intended to be a gender trick. I normally use the name Stygian but that was already taken. I'm a die-hard Styx fan so needed something Styx related. When I saw the freebie fantasy wizard avatar I thought, "Hey, that makes me think of the Man Of Miracles album cover! That would be a cool gaming name." Once I was eligible for a custom avatar I switched to the real album cover (with modified lettering). It was only after I'd posted here for a bit that I realized everyone assumed I was male. Having a nick with the initials of MOM is also appropriate although my daughter calls me Mama. :D

Erm. I think I ve posted it before.

Simple really:

Paal + Pericles => Paalikles

Taliesin-- Welsh/Celtic bard who features in some King Arthur traditions.
My first choice was Excelsior (Charlemagne's sword, I think), but it was taken.

Bird Jaguar was a Mayan king. The Mayans are one of my interests. My son was conceived on a trip to the Yucatan and we joked about calling him Bird Jaguar. The glyph is his name and you can see the bird sitting on the head of the jaguar.

When I was flying for the Navy, my call sign was Bugsy. However, when I went to sign up Bugsy and Bugsy were taken. What to do? what to do?

The previous day I had been watch The Holy Grail, so I decided to make myself an unofficial member of Camelot.

We're Knights of the Round Table.
We dance whene'er we're able.
We do routines and chorus scenes
With footwork impeccable.
We dine well here in Camelot.
We eat ham and jam and spam a lot.

because I don't like conforming to pre-set standards. Nothing to do with religion whatsoever.
