How do I convince my parents to let me move out?

A good idea would be to show you're adult and mature about it. Like that post you just made, actually :)
Show them you've thought long and hard about it. Show them you can afford it, and how it's going to be beneficial for the both of you.

But really, if you just tell them the way you wrote it, you should be fine.
Just remember: being angry and whining will NOT be the best way to get what you want.

Tell them that you will need to learn how to grab life by the horns, and that this is a great opportunity for that. Promise that'd you would visit them once a week, just to let them know you are okay.

If that doesn't work, well, you don't HAVE to be with good terms with your parents.

Just take off in the middle of the night, don't give them any say in it. If you have to tell them, but other then that don't let them get a word in.

I wouldn't listen to a frenchman either...

Thats just the shame that all the french people feel, I know many that run from the France for that reason...

The OP is kinda screwed, your parents are not going to listen.

Gather up all your possessions, find a place to live and then scarper leaving a phone number.:) Or if there a bit funny about homosexuality: say you're gay.

Seriously just discuss it with them and see what they say, if there dead set against it, there's really not alot they can do to stop you unless your a minor I supose. Then just wait until your 18/16 or whatever and go.

Ditto to what the cousin said. You have a good case, now sell it well.

Tell them you'll be back if you fail and they can then lay into you how bad you messed up.

The living with a dude thing is going to be fun, Any one else thinking 'Three's Company'?

And if they get mad and tries to hinder him, as the OP said...? :mischief:
She's going to go anyway. The question is now on what terms.

Oh ... yeah ... Three's Company! I wasn't thinking of something totally more perverse and unmentionable here. Three's Company it is!

And make sure you go over what you're going to say by yourself in a mirror or something so that it comes out the way you want it. You want to be firm, but polite.

I'm surprised it's such a big issue, to be honest, most people these days tend to live at school. I took it to a bit of an extreme and moved a thousand miles away...but of course, I still go home on vacations and talk to my parents over the phone fairly often.

Sell the benefits not the features. Benefits are the language of emotion and features are the language of logic.

List the benefits of moving out and then discuss them in a mature fashion. They won't disown you for very long. It's tough when children grow up.
