I didn´t even know there were any popups here. :D I always type "for" and IE suggests the whole address. Faster than klicking on a bookmark.

On a more general level, if you want to get rid of all kinds of popups (especially those nasty "pop-up-when-you-close-the-window), just install Netscape and turn off JavaScript. :egypt:

The problem is more manageable now. Telefragged now only use small pop-ups after I emailed them last night about those rampant full-page pop-ups. :)

I sometimes get two full-page popups on one page before that. :nuke:

Other than CivFanatics, I don't visit any sites that have popups.

forums.civfanatics.com
drudgereport.com

news.yahoo.com/fc/world/iran
news.yahoo.com/fc/world/iraq
news.yahoo.com/fc/world/north_korea
www.washtimes.com
www.foxnews.com

That's about all you'll find in my page history. By the way, I've been checking out Iran, Iraq, and North Korea news months before Bush's "Axis of Evil" speech...I guess W. and I are just on the same wavelength

Thanks for posting the link to that POW program! Those popups, especially the ones that don't go away when you click the "X", always reminded me of drunk ugly women who could be $2 whores, who keep coming up and bothering you at the bar near closing time. DESPERATE! And I don't know why they haven't figured out that desperation DOESN'T sell....

But they'll be gone now, if what they say about this program is true....

I got a program called Popup Stopper from panicware.com(net, not sure which)

It's awesome and it is easy to turn on and off from your system tray. If you have it on, then web sites that spawn a new browser window will not work right, so if you go to one of them you have to turn it off.
