I'll agree with that; you might as well hit yourself in the head with a shovel if you put ketchup on a steak. It'll be about as enjoyable and it will take you less time to complete the task.

Steak sauces are unnecessary if the meat was marinated well. Infused sauce >= sauce on the side.

Meat is good. Seasoning is good. Which is why you eat the darn thing rare so you can sear the edges real fast and get both! If I want to eat char I can pick up a briquette on the cheap.

I wouldn't say wimps, but, as stated, its not my preference, not needed for a juicy steak, and I don't like the taste of A1.

I don't despise a well-done steak (Unless its completely charred) to the point that I'd refuse to eat it if it was set before me, but I'd never cook, order, or pay for one, and if I did happen to have one, I'd be using sauce. Same with a medium-well steak to a lesser degree.

You can make a pretty decent sauce if you use a little of your favorite alcohol, the fond/sucs (depends on where you are from) in the pan, and some flour as a base. The jarred stuff just can't compete.

Duck is actually pretty good.

The only thing that comes close to sauce that should come on steaks is myoglobin + water, and the melted fat which comes from cooking it.

Depends on the steak. Some cuts are only worthy of ketchup to be honest.

Real men eat steak with minimal seasoning. Why cover up the taste of the beef? If a steak is that bad it requires heavy seasoning, it's not worth eating.

It is salt.
Someone was "too generous", but it is the only photo I have found with the colour I like. I agree with you, no seasoning for Steaks.
