One of my fondest memory of China is the insane amount of really good food you could buy for a ridiculously low price - and that was in 1995...

As a whole things might be a bit more expensive now, but I'd imagine the quality has gone up as well.

Of course if you're dining at upscale places dinner for 4 could easily top 1000 RMB.
