How has technology changed your industry?

I'm majoring in History, so, I guess pretty much everything? Technology is part of history itself, and makes it easier for historians to keep records and examine artifacts.

I thought bound books were going through a bounce back though? And there seems to be no shortage of flyers and advertisements I get in the mail.

The Print Press Technology was firstly discovered in the Renaissance Era, surprisingly our computers still require printers to function ideally today.

I work in the newspaper side of printing.

No-one wants to cart around a newspaper when they can just look online. Production has plummeted.

For me the biggest is in memory.
I remember the 7 platter removable discs that weighed like 10 pounds. 256 meg.
Or the more modern 6 foot tower with 6, 1 gig drives. WOW.
Programming was more exact since you had so little machine memory. Now you can be inefficient as you want and it usually isn't critical, except in some real time applications using huge dBs.
So much different, but at least it's good different.
Holding a tiny 128 gig stick in the palm of my hand that could replace a small library. It always makes me humble.

floppy discs. :D

CPA here, i dont know how people did my job before excel, quickbooks and simple. Also praise Optimus prime for the invention of the printer and automated coffee device.

It effected me so much that I'm looking into a field that doesn't go obsolete or moved offshore.

I'm afraid I don't have an industry.
