How is your EU3 Game going?

You can find out what kind of troops other people are using? :confused: I did not know that...

I had right of passage and troops stationed in the USA's territory because I'd been helping them fight my ancient and bitter enemy, the Prussians. So I had line of sight, and was able to see that those were the units they were training. For quite awhile they'd been training cogs, too, though they did eventually upgrade those to East Indiamen.

That war never did end. The game ended after a few Russian blitzkriegs into Africa in 1820, limited only by not having enough diplomats to annex Egypt in the end.

The other oddity in this game was that for quite awhile Corsica had one of the strongest economies in the world, purely through trading. I eventually embargoed them and cut their income by more than half, to ensure they wouldn't match me technologically, and indeed they didn't, as I ended with 70/72/71/70/70 technology. The last few Government techs were kinda pointless though.

Savoy -> Sardinia-Piedmont, 1459:

Achaea is still holding on, Castile is in Denmark and Pommerania, Bohemia leads Austria in a personal union, and the TO ate Lithuania (you can't see most of that on this map).

I think Bearn got released from vassalisation in a war (along with all France's other vassals) - IIRC it was Burgundy who did that.

And actually, I hadn't even noticed Aragon took Bearn...

I posted this over in the Paradox forums, so I guess we'll race to see who can get me an answer first. Currently, playing as Oman. Government tech 11. I would like to become a Noble Republic, but that option is grayed out, and it says it says that that is not possible. I'm currently a Despotic Monarchy, and according to the chart on the Wiki, this should be possible. Anything I'm missing?

Answer according to Paradox: Personal Unions screw things up.

Damn you Graphics Card! Damn you, I cant play MEIOU because its to graphically awesome, the game crashes when loading flags and sounds.

Weekend procrastination FTW! :lol:

So here's my Death&Taxes game as Burgundy, start date 1399. I am on a God-sanctioned mission to de-blob Europe and maintain a healthy balance of power (meaning I am the strongest country and nobody dares incur my wrath).

I have tons of vassals, but I forgot to take a diplo-map screenshot. I can tell you: crushing France is soooooooooooooo much fun. Die you bloody big bleu blob! England just got soundly beaten, and Castille is kept in check, I don't want it to grow too powerful. The last war with it was fun - I seized a province in the Pyrenees which gives about 5 terrain penalty to the attacker. My 18-stack army was attacked by 45-stack Castillian army there - I lost the battle with about 2000 casualties, while Castille "won" losing 20,000 men :lol:

Oh, notice Byzantium - I did absolutely nothing to help it, and it somehow seized southern Italy, which is what I always struggle with.

With help from the Mameluks I see.

I started a Moldova --> Romania game on the More Province Mod. I managed to micro-manage Romania into a very rich state. Got there by being vassals of Poland for a hundred years as I slowly built up without the Ottomans attacking me. I even managed to Westernize. Eventually, I unvassalized myself from Poland, and shortly after, Lithuania declared on Poland and Poland went to hell. I stepped in and got some extra Romanian provinces Poland won in a war against Austria who themselves won against the Ottomans earlier.

I've since had formed Romania and allied myself with a mega-blob Austria. The game is getting boring now though...
