How long can you run Windows ME without crashing?

I've gotten rid of ME :D, but the damn thing would ALWAYS crash randomly, so for all of you ME users or veterans, how often does it crash for you??? never over 8hrs in a row for me, and sometimes it wouldn't boot...:\

About 6-8 hours for me too. Also, if I don't reboot it every 8 hours, it gets pretty cranky. I've upgraded to XP and find a world of difference - for the better, of course.

I don't recall it hard-crashing much, but then it just plain irritated me so much, that I don't think I ever left it on my box for over 2 days in a row....

ME? That brings back horrible memories of that almost forgotten 2 week period I had it.

It crashed on average of once an hour. I even did a format and reinstall 3 times in 2 weeks hoping it would help but nope.

Never seen such junk released as a final product in my life. I'm sure if my brand new car broke down every hour I wouldn't be saying "It's just a ford, chevy, whatever" That's what we say about microsoft though. "It's just microsoft."

About 1-3 times a day. I think its doing it whilst we speak!

Whats so wrong with ME anyway? i feel almost like getting XP, if i knew i could keep the programs that come with the computer. Why would microsoft release such a rubbish OS?

I think I'm lucky too : apart from the first week, when I had to reformat the HD and re-install ME, it runs rather smoothly.

Of course, from time to time SMAC doesn't run. But then I play CTP, and when I switch back to SMAC usually I can play.

Of course, I find Win2K much more stable, but SMAC for example can't be played with that OS. By the way, I have XP installation disks, but I've not installed it yet, because I'm not sure Civ series (and some other games too) are supported.

I'll have to look into the CFC forums to find out...;)

I don't find ME crashes for no good reason...it is only if I try and run loads of large programmes at the same time that the RAM runs out and off go the lights! (this is despite a RAM manager thing).

Win XP hasn't crashed on me in a year.. and the only reason it did crash in the first place was because I was using the win 98 drivers for my printer

DOS is an upgrade compared to 98 or ME. I installed WIN98 for my son last night and it crashed 2 min after booting for the first time.

I upgraded too.

To Mandrake Linux 8.2. See how M$ likes that!

ME has been very stable for me. My son crashes it with some of his 3D graphic intensive games. It is a RAM hog, but must of that is resident programs you can check off in the start up menu of msconfig.

ME always crushes.
Wether if it is a Suicide bomber or an IDF targeted killing, no stability can achieved.
