According to at least one source your poll is flawed ... there are 8, not double counting Standard and Daylight times, and not including "Arizona Standard Time" which is simply MST, no daylight savings observed.

I think 7: 4 main, 2 pacific, and doesn't part of Maine or Florida go into an earlier one? I'll check over lunch break.

Everyone is forgetting Guam and Wake.... that's another time zone so it must be 8 or more

Actually if we were counting oversea dependances and commonwealths, rather than national territory, which we are not (at lest because the poll does not go that high) there would be 3 more. Wake and Gaun are in different zones, +-12 and -11, and Puerto Rico is one east of Eastern zone, -4.
