How my mother stopped telling me to look for a boyfriend

The environmental stuff, technology will solve it and the earth will heal itself.
I like your magical world where technology suddendly spring into existence to fix stuff and where Earth heals in a handful of years instead of the geological time it actually requires (i.e. : longer than human history for the quickest stuff, longer than human existence for the rest).

The ONLY reason a doctor should refuse such a request from a man would be if it would have adverse medical consequences for him other than a future inability to father children.
Just keep in mind that a doctor might be concerned with a lawsuit for performing an "elective" procedure if the person changes their mind later. "The doctor didn't explain the risks/implications well enough! If the doctor really explained it to me I wouldn't have done it!" If I had a nickel for every time I heard that... Well, I guess I do... come to think about it ;) ... and as for waivers, you get "I never signed that!" "I didn't realize what I was signing!" "Oops the medical staff lost the waiver!" "Oops, the waiver wasn't signed", "Oops they signed the wrong form"...and so on.

My point is that the doctor might not be judging you or trying to protect you from yourself (or from the flames and damnation of your sinful ways), they might just be trying to protect themselves.
I'm being reminded very much of the pro-pregnancy aspect of the anti-choice brigade. They love pregnant women, but have zero concern for the fetuses once they are no longer fetuses and become babies that need things their mothers may not be able to provide.
Well this actually reminds me of a George Carlin routine... almost word-for-word... and I know Commodore shares my love of Carlin, so I'm guessing he agrees with you on this.

EDIT:
Where is this coming from? I don't know if this is specifically directed at me or if you are just making a point, but I've always been a supporter of providing more social welfare programs for families and oppose any attempts to curtail those programs. I've also never supported or agreed with the "welfare mom" argument.
See?

I've watched a few George Carlin videos on YouTube and I think I saw him once on TV. I don't remember this one, though. I've just had a LOT of discussions over the years with hypocrites who can't make up their minds whether or not they want women to be pregnant but not have to take care of the resulting kids, or if they want kids to be able to grow up in a healthy, safe, reasonably enriched environment (ie. access to decent education, reading material, recreation; doesn't have to cost $$$, just be reasonable).

I'll see if I can find you a link... any excuse to watch some Carlin

NSFW
Spoiler NSFW - Many many many potty words :
Spoiler Seriously there are lots of bad words in this video BEWARE :

Makes me wonder what the 2016 election would have been like if it were Trump vs. Carlin. I imagine it would have been the greatest election in history since Carlin would have beaten him at his own game and made him look like a complete fool during the debates. Carlin wouldn't have just sat back and took it like Hillary did.
