How well would you cope in the Zombie Apocalypse?

If right this very moment, 99% of the worlds population turned into flesh eating zombies that run, not shuffle, so like those out of I am Legend. How would you survive?

I'd probably die. If the zombies have no intelligence it's pretty easy to survive if you can get out of a city, but I'm smack dab in the middle of one and traffic probably would kill me.

I live in a metropolitan area (Seattle) and would probably be devoured within minutes of the zombies appearing...

There is some issue with the scenario. Half of the zombies (since the world is round) would instantly liquify due to the sun, right? So, I would have to assume it was nighttime...

We could then assume that the zombies do not all spawn at once, that some time is required for zombies to completely scour the globe. If I were given enough time, I have a boat complete with fish and crab bait that would let me survive for a while. I wouldn't be able to go home, though.

Another issue deals with humans near the poles. It's September now, I guess, but if it were summer or winter, humans near the poles would be practically unaffected. If it was summer in (for example) Svalbard, I would say the people there are permanently sheltered from the zombies since 1) they are separated by water and 2the summer sun prevented formation of zombies in the first place.

99% of the drivers are now brain dead (not that much different from before the apocalypse, right?), so you will have the road to yourself.

I have two friends who each contain impressive enough zombie-apocalypse survival arsenals, but one's over an hour away.. The other guy is 10 minutes away though, and lives in an apartment that slightly resembles a castle. It should be easy to defend from zombies, or at least easier. And we're talking all sorts of weapons allowed under Canadian law, canned food, blankets, sleeping bags, hiking bags, giant knives, and all sorts of other survival gear. These guys aren't even crazy, they're just bored and have too much disposable income.. But if zombies ever show up, they're the 2 people at the top of my list that I'd want to battle zombies with. If I was just by myself I would die likely almost instantly.

Well with a 99% starting fatality rate, you would more than likely have their stuff all to yourself.

Assuming you could pry their animated corpses out of their castle.

For me, it was Sep 03, 2013, 03:41 PM.
Not exactly rush hour.
As near as I can tell, the five o'clock rush is in the Newfoundland time zone.
The rest of the planet gets a bye.
