Hey everyone, I recently downloaded Rise of Mankind and its fantastic, however when I've tried to run its largest scenario (some 30 something Civs), I keep having MAF (Memory Allocation Failures). When I've looked online, it seems that other people with comparitvly weaker pcs have been managing alot better. Anyway here is my dxdiag and what I have done to try and allieviate the problem.
Bascially I was hoping for some tips to increase speed and improve optimisation.
Dxdiag Notes
While Direct X says I have 3.25gb of RAM, my system shows 6gb (I have installed 2 x 2gb and 2x 1gb dual channel), however because of my Vista 32bit architecture doesn't this mean I am capped at 3.25 for my Direct X (and therefore Civ because it utilizes it?)
As Civ on large games tends to 'spill over' into virtual memory, I have added another 100gb there.
Steps already taken,
-reduced memory overhead (themes other processes running ect)
-defragged for memory contionity
-reduced graphics to a decent standard
-attempted to raise priority on Civ 4 through Task Manager but it gives me a nasty error message and seems locked at 'below average', could this be a Vista bug, or has it got to do with Civ?
Oh, and I run Vista Ultimate SP2,
Cheers,
