The only thing epic about this game so far is my disappointment.

First, above all others is the attitude of 2k as follows in the manual:

"If you dont want your information shared, then you should not use the software" -2k games.

Well 2k, it would have been nice if that was clearly written on the outside of the box in large print. I would have choose not to buy your software. Small print inside the manual I can't read until I buy it, open it, and can't return it is shady at best. How about this quote:

"If you can't respect people's privacy then dont market your software in a nation that has an expectation of privacy." Ask your legal department about what a reasonable expectation of privacy is.

It's none of your biz where, when, or how I play or surf.

Are you really so paranoid that you can't enjoy a game simply because it monitors your accomplishments in game (if you're online) and shares it with the rest of the internet? Is that really so threatening?

I thought we were done with these threads by now and people were supposed to complain about the AI or social policies or combat or something else...

You have to agree to the EULA and terms of use before you use the software.

So there goes about 90% of your argument right there. But I do agree that Steam or Steamworks should be clearly displayed on the box (if it isn't already, I don't know).

Also, your thread's title has nothing to do with the content. You didn't pay for a beta, you paid for the release build of Civilization V (or rather for a license to play it).
