I Don't Know What's Happening and Neither Should You - A Random AC

Name: Léopold Favre
Age: 16 (Born in 1900)
Gender: Male
Appearance: Horizon blue, dirty, and torn military uniform and boots.
Biography: Léopold was born in small little village outside Toulouse to a farmer and his wife. He was just a small lad of 13 when the Great War started and he loved listening to stories he heard about it. Near the end of the summer of 1916 several of his older classmates were conscripted and sent to fight in the trenches. Seeing his chance to fight the invaders with his peers, he travelled to Toulouse and enlisted in the army, though he had to lie about his age. It wasn't long before he was throw in the hellhole known as Verdun. His view of this war quickly changed. He saw men, teenagers and fathers alike, mowed down by machine guns, people suffocated in the trenches due to gas. After two months in this battle Léopold was shot in the arm and shoulder. He was sent to nearby field hospital, where he spent the rest of the battle.
HP: 30
Missions Attended: 3
Skills:
  • Shell Shocked: The experience of fighting at Verdun has left him a very scarred invdividual. (While in combat, has a chance of panicking)
  • Veteran: He knows how to shoot a gun even if he doesn't want to. (+2 to attacks with a rifle)
  • Dulce et Decorum est Pro Patria Mori: 'tis a sweet little lie, isn't it? (-1 from taken damage)
  • Trench Fighter: Fighting in WW1 does help with that. (+2 while fighting in trenches)
  • Francophone: I thought this was obvious. (Can speak French)
  • Entrenchment: [Insert WW1-related description here.] (2 ranged defense while in cover)
Approved: Da

Name: Sovereign Eagleson
Age: 50 (Spontaneously came into being during the Normandy Landings of World War 7)
Gender: Male
Appearance: Has steel-grey eyes, ivory feathers for hair, & tanned skin. His combat armor is decorated to look like Uncle Sam's clothing. A pair of Eagle Wings sprout from his shoulder blades, & in place of hands, he has Eagle Claws
Biography: The Normandy landings were nearly a disaster; Hitler 3.0 had Nazified dinosaur bones, & his hordes of Tyrannosaurs & Anklyosaurs were mowing down the allied forces. Just when it seemed that the Germans would forever be the masters of Europe & fascism would reign supreme, Sovereign Eagleson erupted out of the bowels of the Earth & laid an incredible smack-down upon the Axis Forces. With his help, the allies were soon victorious, and he went on to be a key player on Super NATO's side during the Third Cold War. Not everyone can fight forever, however, and as he aged & his combat skills dulled, he was eventually forced to retire. Scarcely had he sat down for a well-earned rest, however, when something very strange happened...
HP: 25
Missions Attended: 2
Skills:
  • The Free Eagle- His Eagle wings allow him to fly for short distances
  • The Salient Talons- His claws are great for combat, less so for shaking hands... (+2 to Melee Damage, -1 to things that require normal hands)
  • The Uncompromising Champion- He fights with renewed valor when he or his friends are on the line (+2 to all rolls after someone in the party is critically hit; stacks with itself)
  • The Implacable Patriot- Eagleson is not easily dominated; if knocked down, he get's right back up (Can instantly recover half of my maximum HP [15 Max]; useable once per mission, cannot take any other actions during the turn)
  • The Waning Warrior- Eagleson has a long combat history behind him, but nobody can fight forever... (+3 on the first three turns of combat, & -1 on all turns afterward)
Approved: Of course

Right, so a quick write up and then some news.

The AC started off with the gang waking up in the middle of nowhere (actually close to a major city, but we'll get to that). They did their RP stuff, and them chose weapons from the magical tarp I laid out. After that some orcs and a lich wizard attacked. The players won handily, and interrogated an orc, who told them of their plans to attack the nearby city (told ya' I'd get to that). After the orc accidentally besmirched the leader and was subsequently annihilated (which totally WASN'T an excuse to kill him off before he revealed too much), the players departed for the city. Then they got arrested and thrown in prison. Also some escaping happened.

News!

@Kinich: Your second feat's penalty is hereby downgraded to -1. Also your new feat doesn't work with the mechanics. (Basically, NPC's don't have skills. They just have base stats that I arbitrarily carefully assign.)

@All: You all get +5 HP and a new skill.

  • The Implacable Patriot- Eagleson is not easily dominated; if knocked down, he get's right back up (Can instantly recover half of my maximum HP; useable X times per mission, cannot take any other actions during the turn)

Usable once per mission. Otherwise, approved.

In other news, mission tonight at 5:00 if I get the people.

Mission Satuday.

Patchy, Dem, Red and Sam get 5 HP and +1 feat for the sci-fi mission, which was pretty awful.

Next one is superheroes, and I need to think about how to model those mechanics in a one-off.

Mission will be finished tonight if I get enough people.

Edit: Be there at 5:00.

Edit2: We had some people. but I realized this was hilariously short notice. Aiming for mission Thursday.

Right, mission was cancelled because I had other stuff.

New one: Saturday at 3:00. I have no conflicts that I can forsee, so it looks good.

That went awful.

I'll call it there. Everyone but Patchy get mission rewards.

Next mission Saturday (if open) and in a different, slower, setting. At 5:00.
