I hate to be a complainer but...

First off, AWESOME mod. I can't believe I ignored this for the more "normal" civ experience. Now my complaints.

Ok, I want to read about all of this stuff but, for some reason, the font is tiny... and I mean TINY so I can't see it well enough to pick a leader based on my own ideals (which is how I play through games before I hit the random button).

Also, various grammatical errors abound. If I was allowed, I'd proof-read it all for you fine folks.

Blah blah blah minor sound glitches (Khazad are German?)

Other then that, holy god I'm gonna love this mod.

:mischief: ;)

uhh, well, I think that the font is just fine. I play at around 1024 lines but I have 20/20 vision though

First of all, welcome to Erebus. It's a great world to play around in, and once you enter you'll never go back to boring old Earth and its fancy 'technology' and 'guns' ;).

Not sure what the problem with font is. Seems the same as vanilla's to me.

Text is a rather low priority at the moment, since the actual mod is nowhere near finished. Also, that's what the 'FfH2 0.33 cosmetic issues' thread is for; post any errors that you find and they'll usually get fixed in the next patch or update. The main reason there's so many typos around is that they take a fair bit of time to search for but generally have zero effect on gameplay, so they're not worth the bother to specifically look for.

Sound... once again, purely cosmetic. Much easier to use existing sounds than to try and come up with new ones for everything. There's already a fair bit of custom sound effects/voices in the game, but better to use vanilla voice quotes than nothing at all. Just off the top of my head, Balseraphs are French and Bannor are Roman as well.

'Gonna'? You mean you don't already? What's wrong with you?. Seriously though, it's a great mod. If you find bugs, typos, or whatever, please post them in the relevant threads in this forum so Kael and the rest of the team can make the mod better :).

Can you post a screenshot of the font your having problems reading? Im curious to see what it is too.

Hmm, you don't love it yet? Interesting, you BLASPHMER! HERETIC! NON_BELIEVER!:p
May the Overlords Strike you Down! What small text? it looks the same size to me. Also, small gramer problems seem to me to be a side effect of a large Europian fan base.

I know you guys have sounds but why not use Dwarven sounds for the settlers as well as the other Dee-warves?

See, the text for the history of the leader is flippin' tiny.

And I don't love it yet because I haven't played it long enough.

See, now this is going to sound really bad but I have to ask, is there any way that the manual can be straight text or one page per page? Honestly, I'm not looking for a guide as I'll figure stratagems as I go. I'm just looking for, literally, the gigantic spool of civopedia text. I figure I can once over each section and post the new-fangled entries in the cosmetic thread.

edit: Text is a low priority? Cosmetic problems, while not game breaking, are immersion breaking. Look and feel serves to immerse the player to such a point that he/she forgets about the occassional CTD (read: Arcanum, Oblivion, Mass Effect, etc.)

We hew-mans like a shiny pretty box. Even us blinks like to feel the etchings on said pretty box.

edit 2: I found the custom game menu (as I go to it anyway) and I saw the options... oh dear gawd. <3

Looks normal to me, considering the JPEG factor. It's a pretty small font, but it's still easily readable to me at least. You sure your eyes are good? If I take my glasses off it's a real struggle to read, maybe you have the same problem? :p

As for the text and whatnot, there are obviously lots of typos and such, but the problem is the mod is ever changing (and pretty darn fast for a free fan made thing), so they quite understandably don't want to proofread/polish things that are likely to change in function or even be completely removed.

Plus, proofreading is just plain boring, and they do this for fun ;) That said, I believe the mod is starting to reach the polish and shine stage, so I'm guessing they'll start looking at that soon.

Yeah, what we put effort into might get cut the next version.
But I did proof-read this version, though it is hard to run spell check with all the xml tags in there, and hard to proofread what you've already read a few times.
There is an editor that contains all the text, it is in the mod folder, an excel folder. You could read everything there, even increase the text size, though it's not the best way to do so, it's the best place to proof-read because you can copy/paste.

There's also this, which you can zoom to uncrease text size. Pretty readable, I think.

Here's how I'm doing thusfar. Made the world extra hostile barbarian wise and nabbed two of their cities!

Uh, how do I delete that tome effect thing on the pdf and change it to 1 column instead of 2?

Wheee! This is fun!
