I have never been able to taste coke

Would it be inappropriate for me to ask you how you feel about it, happy after all or sad after all?

i liked growing up in the US. i definitely was able to make the most out of living here. no regrets whatsoever.

Given you've just recently graduated you were roundabout 10 back then and probably don't remember most of it apart from maybe some blurred snapshots of emotionally colored moments. So, basically, it doesn't count, right?

i remember only a few things: стрелка, the fortress, the canals, эрмитаж. i would definitely be able to understand a lot more things nowadays.

So it was the right thing to do then, in your case.

i remember only a few things: стрелка, the fortress, the canals, эрмитаж.
Huh, if some of the other Russians here are from there, they will probably hang me upside down over a fire for saying that, but honestly I don't think there's much more about that city

fair enough. still haven't been to Москва though.
If you come, come in the Summer. June would probably be the best choice: still not too hot, still not too many tourists, and people already largely gone to the country or wherever they go for Summer/vacations. Less people definitely make it a nicer place to be in.

If not in Summer, first week of January will be the best one. It may be cold (very) or not so cold at all - every winter is different. But again, people are largely gone for the week-long holidays (New Year till Orthodox Christmas).

For other places, visiting Golden Ring towns might be best either during Summer or for the масленица, which is despite what the wiki says is probably older than Orthodoxy and maybe Christianity itself being actually pagan celebration of spring equinox symbolizing the victory of day over night, light over darkness, warmth over coldness, life over death in general and surviving this winter in particular. So it's basically the huge fest of life, which was so culturally strong that it still is around. And definitely also worth seeing.

At -30C there must not be exposed skin :nono: unless all you need to do is to run from the warmth of a car into the warmth of a building.
Since I don't drive, I was on foot and had to go several blocks. By the time I was done and ended up at the library, I had to sit and thaw out for several minutes before I could even muster up the energy to go get some hot chocolate.

And finally friends of mine presented me last year with a most remarkable hat shaped as medieval knights helm (those guys knew what protection is) with an umbrel that can be settled on the forehead or downed on your face when you need.

Behold! (no, that guy is not me, just a random one wearing same hat).

Nice!

And where can I purchase such a hat?

My trapper hat is too warm, and I want something like that instead that can also go over the face.

Great! Now start saving for a cap for your tooth.
